I played RuneScape a long time ago. 2001, long time ago. When I played monsters were in 2D and the game later became known as "Runescape Classic." Members version was only an idea Jagex had. Rune Armour was godly and anyone who had it was a God. There were exactly 3 people at or over level 100. When I quit I was combat level 67, I believe, which later translated to 73 (now 74). At the time I had two sets of rune, had completed every quest and was in the champion's guild. I was a high-level. There were 5 servers when I started playing, maybe 10 when I quit. I've logged on and dabbled here and there since then, nothing serious, only logging in once in a few years, literally. The new game I find myself with today is completely different than what runescape was more than 8 years ago. I have the want to play on a serious level again and I find myself disadvantaged. The world itself is foreign to me; before the graphics update it took maybe 10 minutes to walk-- we couldnt run back then-- across the map. This world is huge, and I am now a runescape member making the world that much bigger. I came from a day when I knew how many black knights spawned in which room, where every guard in the game spawned, how many nodes to find where, how many cabbages were in which field, which items were located where, and exactly how to nearly every thing possible. I hung out with one of the two most famous old-school RS clans, the Sabres (back when the Black Knights still existed, from the older days when every server was a pvp server). I partied with the richest people in the game, you know? None of that means anything now. I'm totally lost. I've been dabbling in skills but I don't really understand what I'm doing. Often I find myself surrounded by 100+ level players, when I was used to seeing most every other player in green level with maybe 1 player an hour being a red level. I'm a no one. I've done nothing. I'm wondering why there are glove slots on my character, I'm still wearing full rune. The question is: Where do I start? I want to be someone again. I was once a person who would walk by and be recognized by other players. I want that once more. Which path do I set my feet at? Advice, anyone?
