So instead were sending 2 archaeologists, a meteorologist, and 3 tunnelers and miner specc'd people My question is, can we settle on Mars underground? As the surface is bombarded with sandstorms, radiation and generally low temperatues, so if we set up some sort of space underground, it'll be closer to the core, thus warmer, no weather (I send my meteorologist cause the weather of mars is pretty cool too, and we still might be able to settle on the surface) and radiation shouldnt hit us

As we have quite a while to train them, I get people who are already moderately trained in such fields as archeology, meteorology (is that useful?) mechanics, navigation and communication
