  1. I didn't list combat familiars because I never used one during this training, and i believe the benefits of familiars have been listed before and apply where ever your training.
  2. 1. Introduction 2. Requirements 3. Location 4. Equipment 5. Method 6. Loot 7. Alchemy 1. Introduction I used Moss Giants to train my attack and strength from 40 to 60 and my defence from 40 to 50 in the Chaos Tunnels killing roughly 2250 moss giants. I chose the Chaos Tunnels over the other locations (Brimhaven Candor Varrock Sewers) because it was easy to reach and get back to bank or grand exchange. Now the reason I created this guide was because everything I read on various sites about moss giants pointed to Brimhaven, Varrock Sewers, Pirates Cove, or Moss Giant Island which would work well if you have the agility (LVL 30 for Brimhaven Dungeon LVL 51 needed to use Edgeville Dungeon shortcut for Varrock Sewers) or the quests needed (Pirates Cove takes Lunar Diplomacy and Moss Giant Island takes Shilo Village to use carts for easy bank use.) Now I just wanted something to kill that would be good experience and decent cash without during more work to set up; Chaos Tunnels are perfect for that and safe from revenants (was only attacked two times during my runs I would consider that safe.) 2. Requirements a) Level 40 Attack i) To wield a rune weapon you can start sooner if your strength is higher. B) Level 40 Defence i) To wear rune armor using adamant is possible but you are going to use more food and get less experience per hour. c) Level 25 Magic i) To teleport back to Varrock and Alchemy (1) Varrock Achievement Diary to teleport to the Grand Exchange. 3. Location The Chaos Tunnels are north of Varrock the entrance you want is just west of Stealing Creation. By keenstrike at 2009-11-24 This entrance will take you directly into the moss giants they will be aggressive when you get into there. The Chaos Tunnels are multi combat so you will normally have 2 giants attack you right away ones level 48 the other 42 I found its best to move into the niche above the entrance. By keenstrike at 2009-11-24 Now by standing in the niche you will only have to fight one giant at a time (sometimes two will move just right so they can fight together but not often) I recommend fighting here until the aggression wears off. This spot has 1 level 42 giant that spawns on it and after you kill that one you can pull the level 48 giant that's next to the exit. Those are the only 2 giants you can pull back to that spot the rest won't make it all the way and you could end up facing 2 giants if the 1 in the spot spawns. After the giants stop being aggressive you can be more selective and only kill the level 42 giants since I didn't notice any change in loot or experience by killing level 48 ones and they do seem to have a better attack. If you want to be lazy you can stand down in the southern corner near the portal and the giants will stay aggressive, but be careful as you can get attacked by 2 mobs down there even in the niche. 4. Equipment a) Rune Chainbody (better crush defence than Platebody) b) Rune Platelegs c) Rune Kiteshield d) Rune Full Helm e) Rune Boots f) Amulet of Glory g) Ring of Wealth h) Regen Bracelet i) Staff of Fire j) Law Runes k) Air Runes l) Nature Runes m) Food (Monkfish is a good choice if you're buying your food.) Rune armor and weapon can be switched out for adamant but your runs will be shorter. Now if your jewelry isn't up to dragonstone level yet that is fine I would recommend that during your training you start to upgrade to dragonstone and a regen bracelet. I also used super attack defence and strength potions starting with 2 dose ones and dropping the vials once they were used up. 5. Method I covered the method to use in location but I will expand on that a little here. I started with training my strength up to 60 then switching over to attack once I reached 60 attack I purchased a Dragon Longsword (already finished Lost City quest if you have Monkey Madness completed would recommend Dragon Scimitar or Dragon Battleaxe if you have Hero's Quest completed) And then switching to defence and working it up to 50 (started green dragons at this point and bought granite armor) 6. Loot The items you want to loot while killing Moss Giants will vary by person. Listed below are the items you will want to loot for sure because of there value (prices from GE November 19, 2009 to November 21, 2009 always check current prices to see if still worth keeping) Seeds Snapdragon Seed: 91.6k Toadflax Seed: 2.9k Ranarr Seed: 39.9k Kwuarm Seed: 12.5k Limpwurt Seed: 1.1k Strawberry Seed: .8k Watermelon Seed: 4k Torstol Seed: 25.5k Dwarf Weed Seed: 32.2k Herbs Grimy Ranarr: 10.5k Grimy Lantadyme: 7k Grimy Cadantine: 3.7k Grimy Irit: 4.7k Grimy Avantoe: 3.6k Grimy Dwarf Weed: 8.2k Grimy Kwuarm: 6k Runes 27 Earth Runes: 28 per rune 756 per drop 18 Air Runes: 13 per rune 234 per drop 7 Chaos Runes: 102 per rune 714 per drop 6 Nature Runes: 302 per rune 1812 per drop 3 Cosmic Runes: 209 per rune 627 per drop 3 Law Runes: 419 per rune 1257 per drop 1 Blood Rune: 476 Uncut Gems Uncut Sapphire: 1k Uncut Emerald: 1.9k Uncut Ruby: 3.6k Uncut Diamond: 11.7k Misc. Loop Half of Key: 23.7k Tooth Half of Key: 51.8k Shield Left Half: 65.7k Rune Spear: 12.3k Dragon Spear: 37.4k Chaos Talisman: 3.5k Nature Talisman: 1.4k Spinach Roll: just eat it (2hp) These are the items I would loot for there value. A few other items that can drop are Steel Bar (832) Coal (208) is a personal choice if you want to save it for smithing. Long Bone can be traded to Barlak for 1k coins or 1500 xp in construction (if you have 30 construction.) A Curved Bone can be traded to Barlak for 2k or 2250 xp. Big Bones are worth 508 gold but i would recommend just burying them your inventory would fill up to fast if you saved them, resulting in shorter runs and slower experience but more gold. 7. Alchemy Now for those that want to get some magic experience while training on giants alchemy is a good option as the moss giants drop enough nature runes you shouldn't have to buy more than 10 to start out with. I listed below the items worth alching without taking to terrible of a loss now you can choose to only alch items that return you a profit that's up to you. Steel Med Helm 120 180 Steel Sword 130 195 Steel Kiteshield 340 510 Rune Javelin 160 374 Steel Full Helm 220 330 Mithril Sword 338 507 Mithril Spear 338 507 Black Sq Shield 460 691 Steel Platebody 800 1200 The black Full Helm also drops and can be alched for 422 LA and 634 HA, but it's price on the Grand Exchange is listed at 1472 so if your looking for gold stuff it in your backpack for the trip home. Thank You Thanks for taking the time to read my guide sorry for not having accurate numbers on loot, kills, and experience per hour if this one is received well I plan to do one on Green Dragons next. The next guide will have list the stats starting at an even level 60 for melee skills also about killing in the Chaos Tunnels. Again, thank you for taking the time to read this guide.
