I'll check it out, thanks alot :) I think i'll just experiment and see how it goes. At the end of the day everything is solveable if it goes wrong by just levelling up all my stats and working toward a main. I could do that if I got bored as well, obviously. I appreciate your help! As i'm reaching runite mining at 85 (20k to 81 mining) is that going to be a reliable source of income for me or is the income i'll get overexaggerated?

Having alot of patience is definitley a gift in a game like runescape, then again if I have to face rimmington mine for much longer I'll probably end myself I have previously played alot of the main content in p2p a long time ago and I really don't have that much of a desire to repeat alot of it, even some of the skills (such as crafting and runecrafting) are quite a bore to me. I suppose I may as well train this character up as a main, but then I feel as if I might be missing out on what I really have a passion for: pking and pvp in general.

Hi I'm currently playing a character called dr_tchockyy and at the minute I've spent almost all of my time ingame getting up skills such as Mining and Woodcutting in order to have some sort of established wealth before I start playing around with combat skills. I'm not sure why, it's just the way I usually try to work in games. I think so far I've done quite well, I toyed with the idea of playing a level 3 skiller forever but I decided I was really missing out on alot of the content by staying at the lowest level and eventually abandoned it in order to train magic to 50 so that I could get around faster with teleports (mainly out of laziness). I've probably scared myself by reading so many threads on the forums already about f2p pkers and mains and pures and everything and now i'm just genuinely confused about where I can advance my character with it's current levels to anything which would be worthwhile playing. I've managed so far to get my magic level to 50 by cursing and so I didn't really gain any hp, My constitution is 11. I've also got 2 prayer, which probably came accidently because I genuinely can't remember how I got it. I'm not sure if there's any sort of pure or pker I can build out of the stats I already have, if not I assume this will just be built up as a 'main' character. Admittedly I've always liked pvp and pking in games so if I can get a pker which would be actually effective out of these stats then any ideas would also be welcome! :) Just to avoid the small wall of text and give a tl;dr: I've got these stats: 2 prayer 50 magic 11 constitution 26 combat level 80 mining 70 woodcutting 44 smithing If I can build a pker, which will probably be f2p, how would I do it? If with my current combat levels this would be ineffective, how should I otherwise build it as a main? Thanks in advance for any help :)

Hi so i've decided to make a ranged tank. So far my stats are 60 range, 40 magic, 20 defense and 49 hp. I've seen a few videos on youtube of ranged tanks and was just wondering what items they're actually using? I'm not very familiar with the up to date items used so I'm looking for someone to point them out and name them to me. For example in this video: So basically how should I get my stats up from here, i was thinking 99 ranged, 94 mage and 70 defense would be a good target?

Before I start I just want to clarify that this post isn't some sort of rant at "kids" playing the game. I'm perfectly aware of the average age of a player in Runescape and I think that it's in fact a positive thing. Basically all i'm asking for is if there are any players out that there that would be willing to basically keep me company with general conversation. I recently started playing again after quitting around the time Castle Wars was released and since then all of the people I can remember seem to have stopped playing. It's quite lonely trying in silence, this is an attempt to change that. As a little bit of background information, I'm currently 18 years old and living in the North East of England. I've tried talking to people I see around on my usual world 23 (P2P UK) but alot of players are either uninterested, otherwise occupied or in some cases generally just incapable of conversation. Whilst it might seem ignorant or something I find it hard to get along with people who can't type properly and resort to ridiculous abbreviations for words. I'm trying not to make this post sound like a rant, I'm just looking for people to play with. If you're interested you can add me ingame (account name is s1rfrog, as i said i'm currently p2p) or just leave your account name here and I'll message you. Note that i'm not looking for someone to talk to constantly day in day out it's just really so I have more of a sense of community while i'm playing. It feels strange to be surrounded by so many people and yet remain silent. Another thing is whilst my character at the moment is only level 40~ I have in the past played up to around CB 100 on an older account, I'm not going to ask anyone for any money or items or anything like that. So i've just been casually levelling an account which has p2p, my range is 54 and my mining is 50. These are the only two skills I've got and I've so far made about 1.1 million gp just from selling drops/mining. I'm interested in staying a 1 defense ranged pure if that's an option, but i've also read about ranged tanks. Could anyone give me some guidance as to what sort of stats I should aim for? Please try not to reply with things like "get up str and attack omg" or "remake account plz". They aren't helpful :)

thanks for the replies, i'm now at 50 range and 50 mining. I mined 2.7k Iron at Yanille and sold that for some nice profit. Aside from minotaurs, are there any other good ranged spots I can use? Preferably ones with safespots, though I don't mind using food. I'm looking for ones with nice drops as well, profit is quite important to me whereas time is not. Hopefully you can help :)

Hi, I've just upgraded my account to P2P and i'm interested to know how to most effectively skill my mining and ranged levels. I haven't done any quests so far in members and so I have access to no special areas or anything where these skills might be trained easier, just as a note. My mining is currently only 21, and my ranged is 48. Where can I most effectively mine and bank iron whilst being P2P? Starting from 21. And also, is it still effective to use arrows as P2P? or would I be better off with knives? I currently have 2k Iron arrows, 1k steel and 1k bronze. I've been killing minotaurs since 30 and was planning on continuing till 50, then I'd swap to flesh crawlers, since i've learned you can earn quite good money on them for the herb drops. Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated :)

thanks thus far for your replies, very helpful for me. played a bit today, whilst it's still early on I do feel as if i'm getting into the swing of RS again. I'm encountering alot more friendly/well-mannered players than I did before as well, which is surprising. Another thing to ask, if I could be a member as of now is it really worth it for me as a low level ranged pure? Or am I better off waiting a while? I'm guessing that it's better to be safe than sorry and just go ahead and subscribe, because it makes everything easier, but just to clarify :)

I've seen as well that the wilderness was 'removed', how exactly does pvp work now? I tried asking someone ingame whilst levelling and they just told me 'I dunno'. Much easier to find answers on here :D

Thanks for the fast response, I've seen a few posts around about methods of making some quick early cash on the GE (as i'm learning to call it :D) from a very early level which should be helpful. I think for me it will just be getting to grips with the whole game again really, it's weird even walking around Varrock. I'm starting to see things the way I did oh so long ago again though. I'm not sure of more questions thus far, hopefully i'll get a few more replies then I can maybe remind myself of some stuff I meant to ask initially. For example, would it not be viable to say take up a craft like mining or wcing and just sell my spoils to the GE? I'm quite patient if it's efficient, something I could do knowing i'm actually working towards a goal

Hi, just to start i'm not completely oblivious to everything to do with runescape but just to put it into perspective when I stopped playing I think castle wars has just been released and that was about the time I lost interest in the game. Since then there have been ALOT of changes which will take a long time to get to grips with, so in order to somewhat speed up the process I'm asking you guys for help. I apologize in advance if any of my questions seem too obvious, or ignorant to other posts, or otherwise in any way offensive. They aren't in any way meant to be :) Basically, i'd be looking to start a new character because I think alot of the game has changed and I'd really just like to experience it again. My characters never had any amazing stats (All around 50-60, with possibly a few 70s) so it's not like i'm missing out on much by playing them on my return. I have no items of value on those either, because if I remember right when I decided to quit I gave away whatever small fortune I'd amassed to my closest RS friends, none of whom seem to be still playing! After looking around the forums I think I'd like to make a ranged pure, my idea of this would to be 1 defence with as high ranged as possible. However, I've seen alot of posts here about characters with 40 def and 20 def and also ranged and mage hybrids. There are also range tanks and 2H characters apparently. Would it be viable to play a character that has 1 defence, no combat level altering magic and just focuses purely on ranged? The idea of using a 2H also doesn't seem very appealing to me. Secondly, would it be viable to start straight off with a pure ranged character? I understand the trouble with not having any money or skills to make money off of to make ranged easier, but I'm not bothered about perhaps having to skill a craft before doing any ranging in order to make it alot easier. If I'd need to level a craft, are there any recommendations? Bare in mind I'd be starting off as F2P, but if it started to progress I'd 100% be going to P2P. Hopefully this will be enough to start, I may have more questions in the future. I hope you're able to understand through all my blabbering what i'm talking about and asking :) Thanks in advance.
