  1. Ok, that's good to know about the PSU and SATAs. TBH I just liked the look of the case, and it just came with 4 fans, none are added by me. Could you explain a little bit what you mean about the crossfire bridges. I know nothing about it besides that it's supposed to connect the 2 GPUs together. And a lot of this is my current build. The following parts are what I'm adding: Additional 4GB RAM 2nd Graphics card 2nd Hard drive 2nd disk drive New case 2nd monitor New PSU Hope that helps if you have any more advice to offer, and thanks for your help so far. Different motherboards have different spacing between the pci-e slots. The CF bridge(s) usually come along with the motherboard, if you don't got any, contact Gigabyte. And i hope you got either Vista or Win7 64 bit, otherwise the ram is pointless (or if you use a 64 bit Linux system). Hm, good thing I kept the box, I do have a little deal that looks like the crossfire "bridge." Well, at least it says crossfire on it... And yes, I do have Vista 64 bit.

  3. Hah. That's fine, I actually own quite a bit of this already though in my current build, otherwise that would've helped. This is just what it will be when everything is totally upgraded.
  4. OK, so I'm upgrading my current build. I'm a pretty heavy gamer, which will probably be obvious by my build, so I'm looking to upgrade it to the point where I'll be pretty future-proofed for at least a few years while I have the money, as I'll be going to college soon and won't have much money to play with. Here's my build: Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 INTEL P45 ATX INTEL MOTHERBOARD Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16 Ghz 6mb L2 cache LGA 775 65w Dual-Core-Processor RAM: OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2x2GB) 240 Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit (I'll have 2 of these, total of 8GB) Graphics: SAPPHIRE 100258-1GL Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI-Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossfireX Support (I'll have 2 of these) Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 GB/s 3.5" Bare Drive 2nd Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0GB/s 3.5" Bare Drive CD Drive 1: Samsung 24x DVD + R SATA 24x DVD Burner - OEM Drive 2: Samsung 22x DVD+R DVD Burner Black SATA model - OEM Case: RaidMax Smilodon Extreme Black ATX-621WEB 1.0mm Secc Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout Computer Case Monitor: ASUS VH226H black 21.5" 2ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen 16:9 Full HD 1080P LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (I'll have 2 of these) PSU: OCZ Z-series OCZZ650 650 watt ATX12v 2.2/EPS12v 2.91 SLI Certified Crossfire ready 80 Plus Silver Certified Active PFC power supply Now, I have several questions here. One, will the PSU I have picked be strong enough to power this. We haven't covered PSUs in my A+ class yet so I'm not really sure. Second, how many SATA cables will I need. If i counted right I'll need 4, but an extra set of eyes will help. Third, will I want to look into any extra cooling. The case I have picked has 4 fans, but I'm not sure if I'll want to look at getting higher end ones for the case (and maybe replacing the stock CPU cooler) for this build. and number 4, crossfiring. I'll have 2 of the same Graphics cards, listed above, and I want to know whats involved in crossfiring them (yes I could look online but Tif T+C is smarter than the internet.) Thanks for taking the time to look, any advice you can give is much appreciated, and thank you all in advance.
