I would've thought they'd be too unreliable to use on KQ, though.
-
My bet is they just put the wrong crate there. If you ask Jagex, they'll probably give you some snarky, cryptic response as usual :S
-
We already have dragon plates, I don't know why you'd expect it again :P
Personally, I want to see a shortsword.
-
I don't think it'll happen, at least not anytime soon.
-
I think it's surprising that Jagex actually gave you a real, non-automated response. Jagex should be reported for botting/autoing their customer support responses >_>'

well it depends on your definition of useage
verac = best for maging or using while praying. if u have to wear armor to cast spells, verac = best.
if your gonna go some where dangerous and may need to heal, then guthans is the best.
if your going to play minigames where u get hurt, but want to hurt other people, dharok is the best
if ur up for good defense, dharoks plate and legs cover that...and torags helm is the best, but really...is 10 defense points going to get you killed? @ 70 defense i dont think so.
all about application
and if u flat out have guthans, what the point of even wanting the best defense? u could wear full mithril and melee stuff for 20minutes, put on guthans and go back @ wearing your mithril...
How is Veracs good for maging? o.o

Is that effect only visible when the special activates, though?

Actually, ranged raised your combat similarly to how it does now; magic was different. Magic was .125 of a combat, Attack, Def, Hits and Strength were .25, and range didn't affect your combat if it times 1.5 didn't exceed your Att+Str. Same rule, different numbers for Att+Str. There just weren't many, if any at all, range pures because it really wasn't a stand-alone combat skill in RSC, and you didn't gain any hits exp from it.

With the RSC suggestion; yes, while it is true that in general the community was better back then, it wasn't as golden as you portray it. People didn't lend out party hats to strangers, typically only to trusted friends; greed was as omnipresent in RS2 as it is in RS1 and everywhere else in the world, it merely wasn't as overt or pronounced.
Also, you contradict yourself; you stated that autoers in RS1 didn't woodcut because it was too hard, yet you point out that it wasn't profitable either and that they still mined, smithed, and performed other tasks such as certing. If the autoers in RS1 were complex enough to cert, and even circumvent the fatigue system (which they did; I saw it firsthand as a friend of mine used it, it was truly ingenious the way they handled sleeping bags), why not cut trees? Only because there was no point; I don't believe you could even cert normal logs, although I may be mistaken. Overall, I'd say that autoing was easier in RS1, the game just wasn't as popular and the efforts of the cheating community weren't as strong as they are now.
With aggressive NPC's; they could work, but they would probably prove to be an annoyance to normal players. As well, they would shut out most skill pures and new players from skills, or at least cause the skill to become far more difficult. Even then, autoers will simply auto defense a bit, or find another spot.
Also, as to the original suggestion; unique, but it wouldn't work. The most popular macro system I've seen so far uses a color-detection system, and would simply look for the area in the tree with the colors that would indicate a crack. It'd probably perform the task faster than a human could as well, as simple as the task sounds. I would have to agree that the only thing that prevents autoers are tasks which require reasoning; however, I have no inkling as to what could possibly be implemented into normal skills that requires reasoning without completely changing or destroying the current system.

Saying you can get the Fury for free like that is in essence the same as saying you can get the master wand for free with ten natures in your inventory, waiting for free casts :\
The Fury does indeed own, but its stats aren't really that much better; the only big advantage it has over Glory is defense, and 12 defense doesn't make a huge difference when you have over 250 total.
The new wand costs a fortune in the same way a Fury does, just a larger one.
What is this kid doing here? [Edited - Pic here]
