Obby tank would be viable for PVP but I'm looking to quest as well. Hence Its either with a range tank/ rune pure. Thanks though

Lets say a 40 def range tank? Which is more effective at PVP (at their own combat levels) 40 def or 70/75 def? A rune pure is strictly at 45 def right? I'm looking for one 'more in the long run' kinda PVP.

Finally made up my mind guys. 3 choices - Obby tank, Rune pure or Range tank. Which of these 3 is the 'best' in PVP and PVM in your opinion?

Is an Obby Tank considered a pure? Cab an Obby tank be a rune pure in the long run? Would like to pk in the level 40s - 60s range

Thank you all for the input so far :) Sorry JJG I am not able to see your stats. I doubt I would go with a summoning pure at the moment - no cash to do one and to not have combat skills would be a *pain*. Rune pures are really appealing to me although I heard that is hard work. More please :)

As the topic titles says, I have heard both sides to an obby mauler pure, that it is not very viable nowadays. Could anyone tell me more about different pure/hybrid builds which is effective both in PvM and PVP available in runescape now? I plan to work towards that goal by grinding and questing. Also I am a member. Feel free to post various builds here :) Thank you very much. So far I have heard of: Rune pure, Defense pure, Range Tank (care to elaborate?) Turmoil Pure. Obby Mauler pure.

I have already picked flax until I have 200k. :) Will check out tanning hides. My woodcutting is 50 now. Hoping to get 60 soon for cutting Yews. How does that sound? I'm p2p now. I have 3 strength now. Should I go on and train attack and strength first? Or mage and range? Hope you can reply to this Gideon :) Thank you

Thank you all, what is a turmoil pure and how should I go about to train my herbs levelling first? Also are pures really bad for PVP now? Also I would like to know what kind of 'pure' builds or other builds there are right now good for PVP and/or questing? Thank you all once again.

Hello all runescapers, I have just restarted runescape after many years - close to 6? and currently I'm a level 3 member - a very noob one as I found out the many changes to the game. I plan to be a pure 1 att Obby Mauler. Firstly all my skills are 1 (combat wise) and I have just reached level 47 wood cutting as of this post :) I was wondering if woodcutting is a good income generator? Also, I would like to ask if an Obby Mauler good for quest? For example a quest such as Horror from the Deep, recipe for disaster and the Fremnick Trials. What would you recommend if the Obby Mauler isn't good? What other pures are good both in quest doing (NPC killing) and PVP? And if an Obby Mauler is good enough should I train Magic and Range as well and at what level should they be? As I have heard that by training Magic and Range it will affect my constitution which will affect my combat level and a pure should have a low combat level. Sorry for the many questions.
