  1. I guess that works. I was just using it for a different purpose, where I cast the spell but don't deal any damage, in which case the numbers are way off. I suppose I'll just have to crunch the numbers myself. Thanks for the insight as to why it's different! For those curious, I'm level 64 magic, but what I was doing was donning full plate and stuff to drop my magic attack bonus (got down to -68) then attacking the blue dragon in the basement of the Heroes' Guild with Wind Strike because it wouldn't kill him, I'd just be able to sit there casting over and over. I eventually moved up to Fire Strike because I found I didn't deal damage with that either. Just bought ~45k mind runes to go to town with. The only catch with this training is if I don't keep an eye on it, I log out. Meh, I'll live with it.
  2. I'm a regular user of the site, but I never use the forums, so bear with me if I break some protocol by posting in the wrong area or something. Anyway, I was using the Magic XP Calculator and noticed that the xp values for some lower level spells are wrong. I'm not sure on the higher level ones, but I know that when I cast Wind Strike I only get 5.5xp rather than 7.5 as the calculator indicates. All of the strike spells are wrong. Jumping over to the Magic Guide I see that the xp values given in the table are correct, and perhaps there was a rs update that lowered the xp values and while the guide got updated, the calculator was forgotten. Just hoping this can get fixed. Thanks for all of the hard work in this place. :)
  3. Afterthought: I don't know if anyone's collecting data to determine an algorithm (or maybe just a table) of what the hanky point limit is at various levels, but my thieving level is 55 and my limit is 64 points. It was also 64 at lvl54. Don't know if that's useful to anyone, but just throwing it out there.
  4. In the tip.it guide for the Thieves Guild there is a table with experience points for the various activities (chests, pickpocket, etc). I think it should be noted that the doors on the cages for the chests grants exp. Picking a door to a northern chest will give 210exp, while a door to a southern chest will give 280exp. This is more exp than the chests themselves! Also, is it possible to throw the few tasks from the guild into the calculator? I think this guild may be the new best way to train. That's all I had. If you're training in the Thieves' Guild, the chests are a great way to go, but don't forget to open all of the doors!
