  1. I take exception to that; a respectable Magic level provides resistence/defence against magic attacks for teaming/clans.
  2. [ignore the above poster; he has no idea. I'd say do Dragon Slayer before leveling any more defence, gaining 40 defence. Aim for something like: 45 Attack 75 Strength 80 Range 40 Defence 44 Prayer 60 Magic 45 Dungeoneering Hope this helps  .
  3. From memory, Addy Arrow heads might be profitable; as the arrows are in rather high demand in f2p.
  4. A few things: * Stylistically, I think it's best to filter your chat/cut it out all the time. * A zoom on loot piles would be. * It's easier to watch if you play in low detail, really. Finally, while I know it's a personal thing, more risk and a variety of lcoations would be nice  .
  5. I live in Wellington, New Zealand. It's the capital of our country, around 650k people. I recently moved up (from the South Island, actually) and am definitely enjoying it; I was born in Wellington, but my parents moved when I was younger due to inflated house prices etc, etc. It's certainly a very student oriented and cosmopoliton city  . *edit: small typo
  6. <Screenshot to go here  > [hide=Introduction] About Me - I'm an 18 year old male from New Zealand, currently studying law and commerce (LLB/BCA) in my first year of university (I believe it's also called college?). In terms of my personality, I'm quite an extroverted person; I like to think I'm out going and warm, but it could just be that I'm deluded and manic! While anything I write is quite naturally biased, here's a quick rundown of some of my likes and dislikes, so you can draw your own conclusions  . Likes * Bright colours * * Partying with my friends, but especially clubbing * Being well presented (this often clashes with my love of bright colours) * Cute animals * Tattoos * Curry (the stupidly hot variety) * Coffee <3: Dislikes * My flatmates partying whilst I try to sleep (ever the hypocrite) * Early morning lectures * Lip piercings * Hipsters * Axe body spray It's... pretty normal, I guess  . Runescape History - I began playing Runescape in late 2002, after being introduced to it by a friend. Naturally my first few accounts were embarassingly newbish and the like, but I quickly got into the swing of things, even managing to acquire a Santa Hat. Like others, I complained about the 'decline of the community' after the popular games website Miniclip.com began linking to Runescape (some time in 2003, if my memory holds), but continued to play regardless. My proud Santa purchase and the rampant inflation of RS2 formed the capital for my new obsession; merchanting. This became the sole reason, other than my friends, for which I played the game - the thrill of speculating on the rares markets and new updates; not to mention the sense of accomplishment on turning a quick profit. This unfortunately came to an abrupt halt in 2006, when I lost my account to a key logger. Disheartened, I quit the game and did other things. Classic. Why? - Looking over the enormous amount of changes that have (quite naturally) happened to the game in my absence. It is no longer Runescape as I recognise it; the most radical changes being the removal of both the 'free trade' system and the Wilderness. With the enormous amount of money now present in the game, it is very difficult (if not impossible) for entry level characters to have any noticable effect on the markets. I'm hoping that Classic will (ironically) provide a fresh and relatively familiar slate for me to resume playing. With a rather small population of active players, I'm also hoping Classic (or should I say RS1?) will also maintain the tight knit community feel that I loved when I first started playing. What's with the name? - Well, as I said above, I've always liked cute animals and the idea came to me as I was posting the following picture on Facebook: [hide=Warning: Rl Picture] [/hide] [/hide] [hide=Goals] Preword - As I've said, I'm currently attending university and while I don't do ridiculous amounts of work, there is a certain time constraint with regards to studying, course reading and term papers. As such, my goals are pretty modest and hopefully realistic. I shall do my best to update this blog regularly, but it shall be bi/weekly rather than by the day. These goals are naturally subject to change and I'll update the blog to reflect this  . [hide=Combat] Combat Skills - I'm up in the air about these; stylistically, I'd love to remain at a low combat level - Level 3 skillers were all the rage as I was leaving, and I still consider them to be exceedingly cool  . However, some quick reading over the Classic subforum here on Tip.It informs me that RSC is far more combat oriented in terms of money making and generally surviving in the world (East Varrock mugger, anyone?). I'm also reluctant to commit to any combat skills before I figure out the state of the PKing scene in Classic. All in all, watch this section closely  . [/hide] [hide=Non Combat] Non Combat Skills - Whilst historically I was never much of a skiller, this is something I'm very keen on - especially from a DIY perspective, which is what I gather pervades in RSC. With each skill I'll try and provide my reasons and methods for training it. If you have a better method, or think I'm simply deluded, please critique, but do it in a constructive fashion! Agility - This has always been a skill I've loved; it just screams Ninja! . With the lack of musicians or enchanted rings, and the scarcity of runes in RSC, I'm betting that this skill is a must have. It will basically aid all aspects of my playing, especially if I decide to start PKing. My training methods are limited in this: Gnome Stronghold all the way! Cooking/Fishing - From what I gather, a large part of the RSC community revolves around PKing, so food will likely be in high demand. Whilst certing lobsters is bound to be a pain, I'm hoping these will prove to be a decent money maker for me. If I decide to train combat, there is also the self sufficency aspect. The skills are natural compliments, so I shall train them in conjunction; most probably from fly fishing in Barbarian Village. Woodcutting/Fletching/Firemaking - These skills will most likely wait some time until I have acquired the money necessary to afford a Rune Hachet <3: . The main thrust of training these to get a decent Fletching level, from where I can raise gold by selling unstrung bows to general stores (I'm assuming this method adds value in Classic). Firemaking will be an incidental side skill, as it doesn't add much to my gaming - especially without Skillcapes. I'll most likely bank the logs from 60 Woodcutting and train the other two skills from there. Mining/Smithing - Going back to basics; making stuff and then selling it to specialist shops. This was the essence of my beginnings in Runescape, and somewhere that I think it will be necessary to return. The training will be the usual method; hitting rocks and then making metal  . With the limited flow of cash in the RSC economy, this may be one of my few reliable ways to make money. The access to the Mining Guild and ability to make Steel bars will hopefully finance at least the start of my adventures. Thieving - This is a skill which I will focus on very heavily for the simple reason that it brings me direct cash; something which is apparently lacking in the economy. It is also a relatively quick skill to train, less effected by combat level - especially with the derth of cake it should bring. In terms of training, there is but one word: Ardougne. Crafting - I'm personally not sure as to the benefits of a high Crafting level in RSC, so do not want to sink too much cash into raising it as a skill. For training I shall either kill cows and tan their hides, or buy enough leather to get to a stage where I can make pie dishes, which give a massive 25xp each. From there, it's pie all the way  . Herblaw - As with crafting, though I think there shall be a higher demand for potions from PKers. However with the lack of farming, the price of herbs may be prohibitive, preventing fast and efficent training as a low level skiller. Having never trained Herblore on my other accounts, I shall muddle though  . [/hide] [/hide] [hide=Current Activities] What I'm Doing? - I'm still working on finishing this blog, adding pretty pictures and the like. Other than that, it's catching up on University work and waiting impatiently for the 1st of June. [/hide] [hide=Credits] Credit - Tip.It, for being such a wonderful community (though I may revise that opinion depending on the posts below...) - Jagex, for giving me the chance to play Classic again. *I'm sure there will be more people for me to thank down here, as time goes on  . [/hide] Thanks for reading: feedback and advice appreciated!
  7. I'm personally hoping that the ability to be RSC enabled will help me regain that 'sense of wonder' with Runescape  .
  8. This, and this alone, is the sole reason I've returned both to Runescape and this forum (though the community seems excellent as always). As a player who left in early 2006, (though I have returned to FunOrb in 2009) the changes in the current game appear to have been for the worse (personal opinion, let's not get off topic  ). However, I'm certainly looking forward to the inevitable nostalgia  .
  9. Hey there, I was a profligate forum user and Runescape poster some years back (5 or so  ) and have recently decided to get back into the game upon hearing the news that Runescape Classic would be reopening. I'm just joining now to get the feel of these forums again, before acquiring membership and Classic access  . *edited for format
