Hello, this is my guide for 1-99 Cooking on Runescape. As of now, this is the only guide I've ever created for Runescape, so please bear with me and let me know if anything needs to be patched up or re-written. This does not include complaining that some of the prices are off, they're only used as a rough example for what each level gap will cost you. Basically, this guide is compiled from many other guides I have read, with major changes. I only directly take credit for my time put into this guide to make it clean, precise, and understandable for all; as well as prices and number of fish needed for level X - X. Note: All prices were taken from the GE as of Friday, June 04, 2010. The number of fish it takes to get a particular level is based on the minimum amount of fish it takes to get to that level WITHOUT burning any. So buy more than what needs to be used at times, but stay reasonable! Below, you will find routes for both F2P and P2P. A quick tip before reading: *Members always cook and bank in the Rogue's Den. If you do not know where this is, I have linked a simple video to show you where the Rogue's Den is located. I would also highly recommend doing the quest "Family Crest" for Cooking Gauntlets to help lessen your chances of burning lobsters, swordfish, and sharks. [Rogue's Den video:
*Free Players, I'm not sure where a good cooking place would be, I would assume Lumbridge for the bank upstairs and range downstairs, however you can always make fires. I would appreciate somebody else's knowledge on a significant F2P cooking location, thanks! Free Players' Cooking Guide 1-99: [1 - 10 || Shrimp, Cooked Meat, Chicken] *At these levels, you don't have much of an option, and all three choices give you the same amount of exp. I would recommend just doing shrimp to keep things simplistic. **Amount needed: 39 shrimp | Cost: 546gp | Profit: ±0 [10 - 20 || Herring] *Now the exp will pick up a little, you're still in the cheap area, so I wouldn't worry about the cost. **Amount needed: 67 herring | Cost: 3,216gp | Profit: -1,943gp [20 - 70 || Trout] *This is quite a big stretch on one type of fish, and a long one in general. Trout will grant you a 3gp profit each at market price. **Amount needed: 10,474 trout | Cost: 345,642gp | Profit: +31,422gp [70 - 95 || Salmon, Tuna] *Here you can cook either Salmon or Tuna. Tuna, if you have some money to burn. **Amount needed: 114,771 salmon | Cost: 12,050,955gp | Profit: -803,397gp ***Amount needed: 80,340 tuna | Cost: 12,452,700gp | Profit: -1,526,400gp [95 - 99 || Salmon, Lobster] *You're 67% of the way there, ready for the final stretch? You can either continue the cheap way with Salmon or toss away your money into Lobsters. Lobster will be a lot faster, but cost you more, and vice-versa on Salmon. **Amount needed: 47,336 salmon | Cost: 4,970,280gp | Profit: -331,352gp ***Amount needed: 35,524 lobster | Cost: 11,616,348gp | Profit: -1,847,248gp [[TOTAL PROFIT FROM 1-99 COOKING: -1,105,170gp ~ -3,344,169gp]] Congratulations! You are now at 99 Cooking! _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Members' Cooking Guide 1-99: [1 - 5 || Anchovies] *Easy to obtain. **Amount needed: 13 anchovies | Cost: 468gp | Profit: +143gp [5 - 10 || Herring] *Still in the low cost zone, no worries so far! **Amount needed: 16 herring | Cost: 768gp | Profit: -464gp [10 - 15 || Mackarel] *Not sure how easy these are to obtain, if you have trouble just continue with herring to 15. **Amount needed: 21 mackarel | Cost: 525gp | Profit: -105gp [15 - 25 || Trout] *Still in the low levels, just keep cooking! **Amount needed: 78 trout | Cost: 2,574gp | Profit: -234gp [25 - 30 || Salmon] *Almost to a decently big stretch, just keep cooking to 30. **Amount needed: 62 salmon | Cost: 6,510gp | Profit: -434gp [30 - 68 || Tuna] *Here's your first big stretch, just stick with it, you're getting closer with each fish! **Amount needed: 5,917 tuna | Cost: 917,135gp | Profit: -112,423gp [68 - 80 || Lobster] *This is where it can begin to get expensive, but don't worry, it shouldn't be too bad. **Amount needed: 11,509 lobsters | Cost: 3,763,443gp | Profit: -598,468gp [80-94 || Monkfish] *This is the most expensive stretch, but you'll be there in no time if you've kept it up this far! **Amount needed: 39,724 monkfish | Cost: 21,093,444gp | Profit: -1,708,132 [94-99 || Shark] *Finally, we're at the last stage of cooking. Here, we won't actually lose money in the process either. We'll make some back! **Amount needed: 24,238 sharks | Cost: 31,582,114gp | Profit: +460,522 [[TOTAL PROFIT FROM 1-99 COOKING: -1,901,919gp]] Congratulations! You are finally at 99 Cooking! Now go outside and get some fresh air, you need it! **One more important note** If you're going 1-99 Cooking, I would strongly recommend doing something else in the meantime as well to keep yourself from venturing off from your cooking goal. For example, listen to music, talk to friends, do homework. I even made this guide as I was cooking!
