  1. The performance of Runescape on my computer is confusing and infuriating me.. I only came back recently and to begin with it seemed to be struggling on higher graphical setting but was pretty playable on the 'Low' setting, I logged on one day and it re-ran auto setup (putting me on the 'High' setting) and to my surpise ran brilliantly with no lag! This lasted about 10 days before I moved from home back to my college accomodation which coincided with a sudden drop in performance even though I've not changed computer and the internet connection here is vastly superior! Then yesterday I switched back to 'High' settings and it again played wonderfully but today the game is almost unplayable on Min settings!!

Any advice would be really appreciated.

I've tried cleaning my computer in the usual ways, reinstalling the client and all virus scans are clean.

  2.  So I've recently returned, the last time I played at all seriously Warbands was king and basically all anyone seemed to do to train those skills. I remember just as I left there being some update to nerf it I think.. I don't see big warbands friend chats knocking about anymore and haven't really seen much mention of it in game.

So my question is, is Warbands still great experience and how do people go about it nowadays?

  3.  I think calling people involved in the meta games dweebs is indeed insulting. Lots of people find a huge amount of enjoyment in researching the best way to do things, however (and please bear in mind I don't have much experience of OSRS) surely the majority of this research has already been done and OSRS lacks the atmosphere of discovery that a lot of people probably yearn for!

  4.

they messed up pretty bad to have people willing to give up 9 years worth of updates , but then again I think if WoW ever release a burning crusade server it would probably be more popular than WoD

Except they didn't quite give up 9 years. Two weeks prior to release, all the inconveniences of the 7 year old game quickly became apparent and people started demanding fixes which subsequently implemented, and even updates. And now they have a whole new continent which is probably comparable in magnitude of content to Prif.

    Have you ever played 07?

07 is about as good as RS gets if you were a fan of the game prior to EoC. The only real "problem" is that the community is constantly split over every update. If a new update does anything to improve the condition of a skill, moneymaking method, or combat class, then half of the community immediately flips out and cries about how the "integrity" of the game is being threatened (or something), and how this game is becoming too easy.

So Jagex will listen to them and release an update which doesn't improve upon anything, and then the other half of the community freaks out and calls it a "useless" update and "dead content" or "waste of dev time."

So then maybe Jagex will go a little while longer than usual w/o any updates... and then the community complains about how bored they are and they want new content.

So 2007scape doesn't really have an official "Mission Statement" about what the game's supposed to be about, like it should. The feel of the game just kinda bounces back and forth between the two extremes constantly. Still an amusing game, though I quit once I maxed my combat and got 99 in the stats I wanted banked. I'm too lazy to actually finish training them since there isn't really anything that I actually want to do for fun on the game-- the community's too worried about XP waste to go play Castle Wars or Fight Pits these days :P

I know the general population don't seem to bother with the minigames but the BA and CW clans I was previously involved with have migrated en masse to OSRS. Though the CW lot still complain that it lacks the excellent atmosphere that CW had from about 07-11/12 a complaint I hear generally about OSRS that although the gameplay is preferred to RS3 it doesn't really satisfy the nostalgia for the real old game.

  5. Cheers for the help Arceus.

Erm more to ask.. With regards to slayer, I notice there are loads more stuff to get as rewards. What should I be getting first? Are the helmet upgrades worth it? Is fletching broad bolts still super fast fletching experience?

Also with the changes in combat what is a good block list? If I'm wanting to maximise slayer experience/charms? (I'm level 75 by the way)

  6. I'm thinking hard about returning to RS and finally trying to achieve my long term goal of a quest cape and I've got a few questions:

    1. I left a while before divination, I need 80 and I'm currently 1. What do I do? Or can someone point me in the direction of a guide? How arduous a task is this going to be?

    2. While I'm questing what sort of daily tasks should I be doing? Is this new Ports thing worth doing etc? Is farming Torstol still something people do?

    3. I'm 90 Attack, 88 strength and def, 90 Mage, 95 Prayer and 99 ranged (only 70 summoning). Whats a good money maker for these stats?

    4. With regards to the levels above, I've got about 100mil left in my account and no gear. What would be a good set of combat gear to obtain within that budget?

    5. A bit broad this but any really useful items that have come out in the last 2 years I should be looking to obtain?

Oh also any disadvantage to me using this legacy mode constantly? Any situations I shouldn't?

    Cheers

  7. I have a budget of about £800/$1200 ish. I like to game a little bit but I'm not massively into it but you know I'd like to be able to play Skyrim on Med settings kind of thing. Apart from that I have a pretty average computer use apart from running a few mouths programmes but I imagine most computers can cope with them.

Please recommend me a computer - preferably one thats going to last me a few years still being relevant :)

  8. Synchronizing warbands across all worlds is interesting. It is very annoying in that you may not be on at the right time for a warband at all and you're very unlikely to be able to do 3 in a day. Having said that it will mean the people warbanding will be spread about a lot more.

Paying people to do warbands for me and then let me kill them for mining resources. Paying 100k per resource.

  9. Warbands appear on each world every 8 hours but you can hop between worlds and go to one much sooner than that. If you're really unlucky you might log on with no Warbands for like an hour but thats about the max it will ever be. You can get lucky and be able to do all 3 within the space of about 15 minutes. The main difficulty of warbands is getting into the fcs.

  10. I suppose one of the main areas duel wield has an advantage is Sara GWD's having main hand Ice Barrage and off hand Blood Barrage means that you can increase your staying power while still hitting the Sara mobs with water spells their weak to.
