  1. One session? a couple of hours

    On the whole though, I'm pretty impatient. If there is not update for a long time than I quit until I discover that the game changed in one way or another, just like TF2, which hasn't had an update since december 2012

  2. So I have bee training on hill giants and barbarians and I find that they are not good for training melee. Barbarias don't have any good drops and hill giants should be used for magic training. Should I continue training hill giants or should I train on other beasts (or go dungeoneering).

    Also, is training ranged on cows good? I'm lvl 25 ranged and I'm training on them to make stew and sell hard leather.

  3. Has anyone else realized that the weapons (at least the lvl 40 and lvl 60 starfury weapons) are inferior to their counterparts? Ivl 60 starfury sword for example has 1296 attack and 1041 accuracy, but the D2H, which has the same attack requirement ans is also a 2h sword, has 1341 attack and 1147 accuracy. Is this just a ploy to make people who don't use places like the wiki spend tons of money? FOr me it just is an excuse to mine for 2 weeks for extra mining and smithing xp

  4. I'm looking for a clan that is all about skilling and having fun. Here are some facts to help:

    User: omgeveryone9

    Status: F2P (semi regular)

    Experience: Played from 2007 to 2011, took a break and returned in March 2013

    Location: Europe (+1GMT)

    current skills (as of 23rd of march 2013): attack lvl 34,strength lvl 32,defense 33, ranged lvl 25, prayer and magic lvl 30, mining and runecrafting lvl 42, constitution lvl 37, crafting lvl 44, smithing and fishing lvl 38, dungeoneering lvl 36, woodcutting lvl 47, firemaking lvl 49

    Combat level: 69

    If you need more info tell me

  5. So i'm going to be getting a laptop soon, and then that sparks the debate between which one to get, mac or pc. Now i don't want a giant debate on how one is better than the other...please?

    Here's what i'll be using it for:

    Mainly things for college word document, spread sheets etc.

    But also for things not related to school.

    gaming (RS and WOL)

    photo editing

    I don't want something that would have to large or to small of a memory (something in between maybe) and i suppose a decent graphics card.

    Budget: 1500 max. (maybe even 1000 max). I'm hoping to get a small discount for being a college student soon.

    you should buy a PC. most content is available in PC only. And if you want to play PC games, the PC is better, since many games are released for the PC first.

    A Lenovo or an Acer would do. They usually have fairly decent memory and prossesor speed.

  6. How do you plan on training prayer?

    Seems like a hard thing to do on f2p :(

    I remember the old days when there was a graveyard in the wildy.

    Had a ton of big bones + normal bones + burnt bones. Pretty sure that's how I got most of my prayer :P

    Well for prayer I guess I would just do my best to train as much as I could, which means using all lamps on it and burying all bones I see. Oh and get the most out of prayer experience in dungeoneering as well. I'm gonna do as much as I can to avoid spending much money on it at all.

    That graveyard, you mean the bone yard yes? It's back with the new wildy update, it's at where clan wars used to be. Maybe I'll go there and bury some big bones if I have the time.

    Oh and...

    72Cooking.png

    Keep it up! I got up 21 prayer levels from training combat at the same time. You should also train 2 more Ranging levels and train prayer at the same time (ie. lesser demons or something like that).

  7. Get No$GBA and rock out on DS gamesicon_thumbsu.gif

    eww no$gba. I don't really want to go for DS games, because I already have all the ones I want :lol:

    I completely beat Super Mario World, yay. All 96 exits found. As for Sonic Advance 3 I have all gold medals on all acts and bosses, as well as all chao, but the emeralds are annoying. Emerald #7 is really getting on my nerves... I hear from a lot of people that's the impossible one :unsure:

    *continues to ramble on about stuff none of you guys even care about*

    Anyways, for the next 2 weeks I'm headed back to Taiwan, all because of Chinese New Year. Don't worry though, I still have internet access there. Will probably get myself a new laptop too :thumbsup:

    Hopefully more RS action will ensue while I'm there.

    i think that you either did it for real or Photoshop it. And happy (late) Chinese New Year.

  8. I would like the Nunchucks and especially those Samurai Swords, but I would like it if it was with the eastern lands that JAGEX plan to make. We do already have necromancy as prayer, but that should be released as part of prayer, so like good and bad prayer like with good and bad magic in RS classic. I support all except horses (as a ridable animal)... but what do you mean with taxes? Taxes on us? NO WAY! Then its everything except horses for riding AND taxes

  9. Armies of Gilenor: af for now the best game. The campaigns are also well made, and the units are ftw in Funorb.

    Miner Distubance: I don't see a solid storyline (I mean that there is not a lot about the story). But it is addicting.

    Dungeon Assault: Okay. The gameplay is okay, but I soon get bored of it and usually switch to play either Miner Disturbance or Armies of Gilenor.

  10. It's pretty basic, smithing = Goldsmelting with goldsmithing gauntlets, do superheat gold simultaneously for an exp rate up to 120k Exp/hr. If you are rich you might want to smith addy platebodies, increased cost but a lot faster exp.

    For smithing, granite mining is the best, after that comes iron mining. Buy a Dragon pickaxe if you can afford it.

    Not quite. You don't need the superheating to make it faster. I use Varrock or Falador to make smithing+mining faster. If you have the patience to do it, by level 60 Falador is perfect for F2P, and sometimes even P2P. What makes smithing harder than other skills is that you need to consider that you need to use multiple methods to make smithing efficient. The 3 main methods are:

    *More money, less Exp (buying ore and then selling bars)

    *More Exp, drained money (buying ore then selling final product)

    *Exp for 2 skills or more, inefficient (making final product from scratch, then selling it)

    As for the mining, it is correct, but I find mining dater by mining coal and yes, iron is also a great way to train mining. Other than that, you are correct.

    Smelting and superheating gold with the family crest gold gauntlets IS the most efficient smithing experience for people who do not have high incomes

    .

    If you are free to play then there is realy no reason to train smithing very far as it has little use outside dungoneering which is arguable. Even if you did want to train smithing, mining your own ores would be a poor choice because the money saved is not worth the time spent. Similarly smelting is a poor choice because the time wasted getting slow exp is not worth the money saved. Thus we are only left with buying bars and selling products which is expensive in f2p.

    TL;DR Superheating while smelting is best for most members. Smithing in f2p will always be very costly, or very time consuming with the costly method often being the more efficient one.

    Smelting and superheating gold with the family crest gold gauntlets IS the most efficient smithing experience for people who do not have high incomes

    What about the cheap and effective methods or the most rewarding methods (which means it will be usable with other skills). They are just as imprtant as the most efficient methods.

    Your first statement is correct, but this is for approximately 50% of the F2P population. the other 50% have a intention of being P2P in the near future, so Smithing as a F2P gives you an advantage by the time he or she is P2P. Your second statement is also correct, but there are many people who use it, and feel better off that way. That is because like Firemaking+Woodcutting, Mining and Smithing are interdependent to each other, so it would make at least some sense to combine smithing and Mining while training.

    Smithing in f2p will always be very costly, or very time consuming with the costly method often being the more efficient one.

    Not always. I now train Smithing by making the final item from scratch, but I also am starting to train using the GE. I buy ores, smelt them, and then sell them. Not as time consuming or costly as other methods.

  11. I picked other [insert rc, fishing, or agility here] because its too hard/slow.

    Also, omge, the fact that you think you should smelt/mine in falador makes me disregard you entirely.

    You should smelt/mine Falador (it is more convenient than places like Lumbridge for example), but this does not mean that it is the ONLY good place to smelt/smith in. This is in my personal opinion, and you can do it at another location if you prefer.

    Also, please clarify what you want me to insert and to which question.

  13. This is a thread for all players to get advice about Smithing and/or Mining. You can Ask about the Following:

    * Locations

    * How to Skill faster

    * Money making

    * Do's and Dont's

    * Quests

    * Which is a better option

    I will help you with the question, but anyone can answer of help clarify the question of answer. No trading here please!

  14. I usually train smithing, since it was the first skill I trained when I started to play, but dungeoneering is the best in the fun factor. As for the favorite factor, both dungeoneering and smithing are my favorite.

  15. Newb/Newbie= a new player

    Noob= anyone who is either, idiotic, annoying, a troll, or is inferior to you.

    No lifer= someone worse than a noob, or is far more superior to you.

    Simple concept, made into these few sentences. Of course there are more definitions, but this is the most logical definitions that can be defined in a few minutes.
