  1. Just started planning out what there is to do. First into consideration was woodcutting, my first 99, and realised you can't buy a rune hatchet anywhere. Very few monsters drop it (KQ, Rex, iron & steel drags, and rarely tree spirits), so it might be the one thing we need smithing for.

It's a very common reward from hard clues. You can also get black dragonhide armor, magic bows and rune crossbows from them.

Didn't realise that. But still, until someone gets the appropriate smithing level, they'll stay quite pricey. But I see a market gap for hellhounds & level 3 clues here. Nice.

  2. It's lovely for anyone who, well, buys or sells items. It makes it really easy to just go and do one of those emote clues where you need these obscure items you couldn't get easily any other way. Everything is fitted into one little interface. It makes it super easy for newcomers to the game (who find out about it early enough) to just go and cut an inventory of normal logs or collect some ashes, and sell for instant profit. Makes the game more enjoyable for everyone. No longer do I have to post on forums to buy some vials of water, just put in an offer.

While being very simple it's also incredibly complex and mysterious. I don't believe it ruined merchanting, it just took it to a whole other level. Now it takes more than just patience to make some money, and you can do other things while waiting for your offers to complete. As mentioned, trading used to be a big hassle in world 1/2 when you couldn't see what the other person wanted to say and such. With the GE, you don't have to discuss prices with anyone but yourself. If no one is willing to sell for your price, too bad.

However, the pricing limits do set a certain restriction. The GE would be different, but not totally different, if the pricing was totally free of bounds - there could still be a median price, and items would be able to reach their true "street price" much easier. Jagex should consider implementing this type of free trade to the GE; as you can't fully control who you are buying from/selling to anyway, there could be a solution implemented so that it couldn't be abused to RWT.

  3. for 200 dollars, no. too inconvenient...the next day, i could of died and lost all my items, quit and BOOM, there goes my money.

You wouldn't be quitting if you just spent $200 the day before. But I guess you won't be spending it in the first place since you think this way, so I should've just shut my mouth.

I surely wouldn't pay that money. I used to think I'd be playing for at least a few years more but that wasn't quite the case.

  4. Great job, good to see that the new forum is now up :)

    I have one question only:

Is there a "My posts" search function, accessible before through http://forum.tip.it/search.php?search_id=egosearch ?

The above link is what I've always had bookmarked (aswell as home page on Firefox), and I liked to see all topics I've replied to quickly like that. What could I replace the bookmark with?

    http://forum.tip.it/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_posts&mid=19747

That wasn't the exact function I was looking for, I'll try not sound whiney :P

I'd want to see the topics I've posted in, not the posts I've made. That way I can see if there are new posts to the thread etc. But that one will have to do for now, thanks :)

By the way, now when I click a text formatting button, the tags come up including the closing tag; will you be changing this back to the way it was with the start tag coming up first and then clicking again for the close?

Actually I don't know if it ever was like that since I've mostly typed them out by hand, but I think it was...

  5. My advice is to think through what you really want out of your house, how much you will need room x and y, then build up the house from scratch to be able to use it as efficiently as possible. You should take into account factors such as location of your chapel, glory teleport, portal rooms, your door-building dungeon and anything else you feel that you will want to use a lot. Place the most important rooms close to your portal so that you can access them as easily as possible when you teleport to your house.

As for furniture upgrading, you should think this through too. What will you be able to/wanting to upgrade further once you get, say 90, construction? How much will it cost? Now I don't know how much money you have to spend on your house (and how much you've already spent), but I'd suggest trying to get away spending as little as possible. I personally don't use my house for much else than con & prayer training and portals, and have stripped it off everything else to reduce loading times.

  7. I don't know about the wireless card, but I think you might just be too far, depending on the number of walls you have between the router and your computer.

And for the second part, are you on Mac or Windows, you weren't really clear as to what you're on.

Losing connection at 20 feet is definitely the sign of a bad router or wireless card, whatever the number of walls.

  9. Has anybody heard how many Mega Pixels the video camera will have? I presume it would be about 2.

2 MP would be Full HD quality. The camera is VGA quality (640x480) which is equivalent to 0.3 megapixels. By the way, it's already available ;) (no need to say "will have")

The lack of ability to take still photos is a minus though. I prefer still pics over video, and for that I would have a digital compact camera which can record video aswell.

  11. Do you have the various Runescape worlds under Java Preferences>Security?

    Should look like world2.runescape.com

If not, hit the + icon and add 'runescape.com'

Under the General tab in Java Preferences drag Java SE 6 32-bit in both the plugins and applications. Then open up Applications and secondary-click Safari. Hit "Get Info" and check the box to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Attempt to run Runescape.

Did all that, no difference. I tried with both 'runescape.com' and adding all worlds separately.

  12. Well I would recommend updating your computer to OS X 10.6.1 and see if that helps also check your Safari preference and check security to make sure you haven't disabled your java.

I updated to 10.6.1, and have checked the settings in both Safari and Firefox and that didn't solve the problem :/ I assume it's a problem with the Java itself.

    Thanks for the replies.
