Smithing is no where near obsolete because think of it this way. The other day i was in falador and make 150k+ off of rune legs and rune chest. If you go to the wilderness and get pked and lose those items will it be obsolete if you could make your own things. If you make more armour and save yourself 150k then is it obsolete. People still pay hansomly for rune and addy but you have to know where to look to sell and selling things doesnt come at the drop of a hat. Smithing will never be obsolete because people will always need armour and there will always be someone smithing it.
