  1. I'm digging out the oldest of all suggestions just to point out how it wouldn't be so insurmountable to the engine as it once was. We can move at variable speeds, our avatars can change to different size profiles (see: turning into a mushroom, frog, or sheep), and cats show there's a basic pet support system. So I guess the main obstacle now is making the horses balanced to the rest of the game, or maybe even JAGeX's desire to keep mounts out because they're so common in "The Other Big MMORPG"? My own thoughts on the matter of balance: Put a stable add-on to your player house. Horse gets teleported there when you die, leave it dismounted too long outside a building, etc. Which reminds me, no horses in dungeons or buildings. A rider should get a massive attack bonus in the first round when using a spear and a smaller attack bonus for the rest of the fight, but take major damage by enemies using halberds. I think that'd breathe new life into two under-utilized weapons. I'll leave it up to responders in this thread for ideas on caretaking of the steed.
