RuneScape Information

  1. is back? I guess?

  2. Thanks everyone for the help :) I think I only missed this hunter business, which looks pointless to me. I had a black mask (76 slayer), and I still have a suit of Guthans. I'll probably do Barrows to make my cash back :) Thanks again
  3. Hey all, I was way into this game for awhile and I left in August to play WoW. Any huge changes happen that I should be aware of? What are abby whips worth? Barrows sets? Are they still the best armor? Fill me in on whats been going on, and the prices of things... and maybe if Barrows is still a viable way to make cash :P
  4. Port Phasmatys is my favourite Runescape city. Dunno why, guess I like the colour scheme.
  5. i would kill abyssal demons and pk people in fally bank. whats to stop me? hmm well the second one is theoretically possible, as we all know now
  6. i agree with everyone else. money plays a large factor, i remember saving up so much for things like mith plate and addy 2h i was often doing something new, and it was fun. now, i've done most things, so its a little repetitive becoming p2p for the first time was just like that too
  7. more likely at this point hasla ragga but yeah, i would say... to be well known would be great but something i'm sure no ones ever done on runescape, in its entire history is to have fun every single second you're playing. thats what we're all here for, right? its not a chore, it doesn't have to be done, its just fun. if you can go the entire span of your rs career and at the end say "yeah, that was fun, now its time to spend some time in the real world" to not get fed up when rares jump in price, to not get ticked off when u die and lose a glory amulet thats what i call maxing out
  8. I used to wear a skirt while training slayer. Its cheaper and makes you look like a Scottish warlord (the dskirt is very kilt-like)
  9. Yes, of course the numbers were exaggerated, but you can see that many people would enjoy the few days novelty of having a blue phat and other expensive items, as well as being level 126. However, even though you state your skills are rubbish (1208 or something total? I beat that by 300)... I WAS THERE ONCE TOO!!! In fact, it was not too long ago that I first got members and 1000 skill total. The magic of this game is that you only have to compare yourself to others if you want to. You set your own goals, you reach them. You work at your own pace, and only if you are very serious do you really get a move on to get a certain level or item... So while it may seem like I was flaming you for your skill total up there  sorry about that, it was to prove a point. What is the point of this game if you can't appreciate the hard work put into it? What is the point of an item if you haven't spent hours getting gold so you could purchase it? Remember getting those major items in your RS career, and wanting to try them out right away? I remember my first full saradomin armour in f2p, my first whip, my first santa hat, my first green halloween mask, and my first dragon chain. All of those were things I earned myself, through hours of woodcutting, slaying, farming, fishing, mining, fletching, alching, crafting, potion-making, material picking, merchanting and barrows-ing... Without that leadup to the purchase of that particular item, which filled me with unheard of glee, I would not have appreciated at all what I have. I started using cheatcodes once at the very beginning of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. As such, I ended up with all of the best items in the game at a very low level. It was no longer fun and I haven't played since... It has now been 18 months or so since I've played Baldur's Gate... Hmm... about the same time I've been playing RS :D
  10. That is to say, if you had the ability to change your skill levels and produce any item at will in your inventory, would you still be having fun playing? It seems to me that I would become bored with this idea, because no goal is any good without work first. You see, if I wanted, say, 99 smithing, I would work away at it for a long time, and eventually I would be proud of myself for minor accomplishments along the way, 70, 80, 85, etc. However, if it were possible to get 99 smithing at any moment, I could get it and then produce 500 million rune plates in my bank... Then again, they would reflect nothing as I could also set my experience in that skill to 200M... Now, what I suggest is perhaps a useless question because I happen to know this forum well and can only imagine the number of people who will be excited to tell me that they would like 99 in every combat skill. Well, good for you! But for no work, a 99 skill is simply a skill that can't get any better, a goal you can't set. It is lost potential, and without having to work for it, it means nothing. Now, its up to you: If you had the ability to give yourself all 99s and millions of blue phats... would you?

  13. the way i see it: the drops pay (mostly) for the arrows, plus, i'd better stop by there sometime soon to try for a kurask head (need to display my slayer prowess... rawr)
  14. hahaha shouldn't a mod pare this thread down a bit to the bare essential posts? it seems to be a bit useless at this point... just my thoughts
  15. this is why i love my poh... no one is allowed in there without my consent, and if they do come in, they can just as easily be banished
