Acceptable for first try! :P Let's see.. For beginning, try using some of the filters such as the cloud filter. My newest sig that I've made mainly used that one with difference opacitys and colors with a bit of find edges in another layer that gave it a dark jungle feeling with the right blend mode - I likely confused you..
