one of the common scams i've seen is scammers offering 40k for items, then they change it to 4k. As the other posters have said,check the second trade screen carefully and dont be in too much of a hurry to accept. If any deal seems too good to be true, it's probably a scam

I think cannons were around then but they were the old muzzle loading cannons you see in pirate movies,not the automatic type jagex have put in the game. Out of all the players asking for guns,some must have thought that "if jagex can put cannons in the game then they should put in guns" I agree with you that trebuchet's would have been a more realistic option,but taking the cannons out now wouldnt be fair on the players that own cannons or those that want one.

I think you should be allowed to change your name,but as someone has already said it should only be a one off,anymore than that and the only regular users would be scammers or those cheaters who use micro's. When rs2 was in beta,quite a few members were posting on jagex's own forum asking for a name change,they like myself started typing in names for their character,only for it to say that the name had been taken,hence i just started typing in any old rubbish just to get into the game.I didnt know anyone who played rs before i joined that could have told me that once you've chosen your name you couldnt change it. If jagex allowed name changes,then if you dont already have a second character you could create one with the look and name you want,on jagex's secure login which could be linked to your ip add,telephone number and email address rather than a character, it could then tell you what chars you own and give you the option of deleting any of them,so if you have a lvl 98 and a lvl 23 you could delete the higher lvl and its skills would be passed on to the lower lvl,no combining of skills... just a straight swap then the only thing to change on the high scores would be the name,nothing else!! By having to have a second char for the name change to work,it would give you time to contact everyone on your friends list and tell them of your name change,and be able to give them the name of your new character.
