This is my first post in this forum, but i am not new to RS. I joined this forum to point out a problem with RS2, please read the whole post if you read it. I agree with you that smithing is less beneficial but it is not obsolete. However, I'm a lvl 51 smith and Im a little pissed because all us smithers got screwed over with RS2. For instance, I used to make most of my money by mining my own ores, smithing them into steel plates and selling them to horvik. but in rs2, the stores dont auto-stock anymore, so on every server thate are about 21 steel plates just sitting there, driving the price you can sell for down to about 400. I USED to go to the store and wait till there was just 1, and i would sell 1 steel plate for 1200gp, wait till the stock went down again, and repeat. Nowadays we are screwed because no one wants to buy steel armor from a person anymore and we can only sell for crap prices. Smithing really has no benefit untill you can smith addy and rune, and for those of you who aren't smiths, after 45, levelling your smithing skill by mining your own ores takes FOREVER....and ever. So i think it's safe to say it is rather discouraging being a smith and having to wait for lvl 80 to make a decent profit from anything. at level 51 smithing I SHOULD be making some good money. But I am stuck being poor with all the noobs. I say, every smith in RS should mail jagex asking them to re-implement the auto-stocking feature in the stores. Or auto-un-stocking for that matter. I have 25 steel plates that I refuse to sell for 400gp, and i'm sure im not alone in my frustration.
