Sorry to double post, but I didn't see that second last post.
Firstly, I'd like to say congratulations on a great post (seriously).
G'day mate. I'm an Aussie too. There are other methods of payment other than credit card or pay by mail. I use "Pay by Cash" which seems to work well. If none of the methods of payment are suitable for you, well thats bad luck.Can you let me know where there's a Western Union around western Sydney? I have searched, but not found.
Oh, and you know all this because not only are you very in-tune with how Jagex as a company works, you are also in tune with how their game works? Yet you can't pay by credit card nor internet banking. Interesting.No I am not in tune with how the company works, but my friend is an autoer and I have seen the RS java source code many times, and had the chance to go through it. I asked him about changing bank space, but he said that even if you made the change in the client files, it would be different and the server would reject the requests to bank extra items. In tune enough for you?
Thirdly: I have no problem maging or ranging. I don't need or want fletching.So because you don't want some of the members stuff, you should get the stuff you want for free? I fail to see how this point is relevant to anything. Hell, other F2P'ers might not want more bank space, but they may want fletching. By your logic, thats fine and dandy.
I said that because some person who posted before that last post of mine was complaining about maging and ranging. Ignore it.
And no-one should ever say that JAGeX don't make money from F2P servers. The ads earn them lots of money. More than enough to pay for the servers. Sorry if i seem like a 'complaining noob' but there is currently no way that I can pay for members and i don't really care for members benefeits anyway (apart from bank space).
Please, support your argument with facts that you don't know. You are assuming this. As Bubsa said, F2P can't support their own servers with the ads, thats part of the money earned from P2P.

And yes, I click the ads to support JAGeX because I currently have no way of paying $5 (even though I have the money). Every time I go to the play game page on the site, I click the ad. A solution to this problem on JAGeX's end, could be to use ads that appeal to gamers.
And, as I said above, I do not want members benefeits much either. And you members can't really complain about F2P players getting 5 extra bank spaces can you?

Yes, true. But I am not demanding all of the bank space that members get. Does it seem strange to everyone else that adding 5 extra bank spaces is going to put JAGeX out of business? I think not. I don't expect monthly updates. I don't pay so I shouldn't get them! I know that. And I accept it because I don't pay!

Seriously, I don't want to pay JAGeX $5 a month just for something that could take Andrew 5 second to change. Sure if F2Pers could purchase extra bank space seperately from members, I would pay for it seperately. I don't want members benefeits (as I have said in my previous post) and am not willing to pay for 5 slots of bank space.

You are right there. But 'Test' servers? And why wages for free servers? That's all fine if you mean people to maintain the servers, but if you don't mean that then there's a problem. There are [currently] no updates on free worlds, so why pay people to develope content for them?
On an off topic note:
I was just thinking about how JAGeX shut down the Australasian server. They said that it cost too much to run. But the English pound is worth much more in Australia. 1 pound might be equal to $3 AUS sometimes.

Sorry. I said i wouldn't post on this topic anymore, but with all that people have said, i feel that i need to reply.
Firstly: Pay By Mail isn't available in every country. I live in Australia and i can't pay by mail.
Secondly: Making say, 10 extra bank spaces for free players won't cost JAGeX a cent/penny/whatever. Andrew has to change one number in one of the JAVA files. You may know this, but I just wanted to point it out. And it's not like JAGeX never update the JAVA files. They do every week. Andrew could make that simply change one week. And they wouldn't suffer financially at all.
Thirdly: I have no problem maging or ranging. I don't need or want fletching.
Fourthly: I backed down because i didn't see the point in continuing this discussion because it was going nowhere.
I will say this again even though i have probably said it about 10 times already:
I don't want members skills.
I don't want members quests.
I don't want members objects.
I don't want members areas.
I don't want the forums.
I want extra bank space. Maybe even just enough to finish the row!

Free worlds can't use Dragon armor or weapons, so the "gap" between them shouldn't really even concern you...unless you plan on buying members.
Now, whilst some of the other ideas were grand, on the whole I think most of the population (including many, many free players) would agree that the f2p worlds should not get this huge of an update. If you give them something to make at level 85 crafting, then they'll be training for nothing until that level. Just, (and please don't flame back to this. There's been enough arguments on this subject already), buy members and use the updates it offers. I mean...what do you honestly expect to get update wise from a free world, anyways?

Like I have told you many, many times: for some people, five dollars a month is not an option. But I do not realisticly think that this is likely to happen anyway. I have to agree on you that raising to level 85 crafting is not only boring, but the only things you can make with F2P crafting end at leather armour...
On a different note, Ishbar, very well thought out post, but diamonds really cannot be moulded just like metal. There are more of a stone. But the idea seems pretty well thought out anyway. Good job!

The only thing I can do is laugh at this post and give you this hypothetical statement:
You want to buy a pizza at a pizza place, which costs $10.00, but also want to buy a drink, which cost $2.50 more. However, you only have $10.00...I don't think the pizza place is going to give you a free drink just because you don't think it's fair that people who pay for drinks get drinks.
I mean...how stupid and illogical does that sound? Exactly. Same case with Runescape. If you can't pay, quit whining, and move on. It's not like getting Runescape members is going to decide life or death on your part. Just go outside and play sports, ride a bike, or talk to friends. Entertain yourself in other ways if Runescape free worlds are seriously depressing you this much. :roll:

I really don't care that I'm not a member. I have plenty of work to do on my F2P stats alone! No-one here is whining about not being able to pay $5. But when someone suggests an idea and suggests the slightest possibility that it would be available to free players, you start whining about people not being members and paying $5. You, sir, are the one that is whining. I reminded you that some people can't or are not allowed by parents, to play RuneScape members. And you have called me immature? You are bragging and showing off like a 4 year old! You're a member. Get over it!

I don't know about the bit about "Fletching a boat" but the rest is EXCELLENT!
Maybe make boats using the new Carpentry skill (if JAGeX ever decide to release it).

Holy mother of all things unbelievable and random...first I actually found one of Blaziken's posts legitimate...and now, I actually agree free players should get something members have.
I mean...why the hell not? We sure don't use it at all, and other than for fun, it's useless. Add stakes, give it to f2p's also, and all will be great and dandy.
Good idea, great thinking, and I sure would love the falador mansion to be used for something too. :)

Take the following statement as true:
f2p players want more bank space.
That means they've played a while and have the option of becoming a member. If they don't or can't, then they have to deal with less space or hope they get more.
Now, also take this statement as true:
JAGeX's profit does not depend on the number of f2p players.
It' depends, instead, on the number of f2p players who will become members and the p2p players who decide to continue their membership each month.
I'm afraid I see no reason why f2p players will be getting more bank space anytime soon. I'm not trying to be snobby, I'm just telling it like I see it.

Ok...I'm first off going to say, that in by reading your post, you only caused me to (honestly) laugh out loud. That was such a load of crud you just posted. Here...I'll post reasonings and tips that will help you actually speak in a mature discussion, with thought actually being placed into every post.
1. No...I did not just read the first sentence and "go berserk" like you accused me of. I not only adressed that first sentence, but also evaluated the entire post in other paragraphs. Anyone with even a quarter of a brain could be able to see that.
2. Calling me a "noob" only proves your immaturity and lack of vocabulary.
3. Yes, you are complaining. I believe when you wrote your previous post in all caps you kind of passed the line between acceptable posting, and immature spamming.
4. I am not complaining, I am trying to enlighten and state my thoughts in the process. If you're going to keep up with a conversation with me, do not post that I am flaming/spamming/complaining, and then go do it yourself. It's not very becomming of a person. :lol:
5. You may be right about the ads, but I assure you, the money they make off of those ads does not come even close to surpassing the amount of money they are making through members. And if it's really a problem...I am sure many members would go open up a free world window just to help jagex out a bit and pay the 5 dollars a month also. That's more than any free player could contribute.
6. Even in hypotetical speaking, Jagex is never releasing 200 Million gp items (especially more than 28 :roll: ) into free player worlds. And even if they did, to solve your whole drama of the bank thing, simply do this:
Drop the rare items, they won't be available to click for other players until at least a minute is up. In that time, open your bank, withdraw some items, then drop those out of your inventory, and sucess! Grab the rare items and be on your damn merry way.
7. I have not repeated myself. Any person with more than a gradeschool education can see that in every one of my statements, I have added more and more useful and novel ideas and thoughts. So though to the people who do not actually read posts, I can see why your brain would deem it "the same."
8. Use proper english in your posts. If I am going to take you seriously, you're going to have to feed more thoughts into your post other than "pwned," "noob," and all capital letters. Calling someone childish and then using grammar like that is only just ironic.
That is all. We'll see how mature your response will be, if you even consume the time to respond at all.

1. I am probably more mature than you will ever be.
2. I am one of the smartest people in my class and the one above, many people say that about me.
3. I will admit that it was somewhat immature of me to post in all caps.
4. I used words like "pwned" and "noob" because i don't like to use lots of big words that confuse some people. And this is a RuneScape site, is it not? So i feel obliged to use RuneScape slang.
Now, to answer your other points:

3. Spam stands for Stupid Pointless Annoying Message. There was nothing stupid or pointless about it (maybe annoying to some though)

5. Owned, LOL (just for you, that means Laugh Out Loud). By the way, there are fewer members than free players, so it is quite possible (considering the ads randomly refresh) that JAGeX earn more from the free servers than the members!
6. I would still be dropping the rare items from my bank... duh!

First you say we're being idiotic for telling you guys that you're being ridiculous for wanting all the updates, when you just want extra bankspace...but then you say that WE don't know understand about it because we're p2p...in my honest opinion, all you're doing is being hypocritical.
Now, don't even say we don't understand...because we do. We were ALL once f2p, and had that SAME problem...however...as you play p2p longer you tend to mature your thoughts on the subject of f2p and what they should or shouldn't get. I look at f2p, and just see whining people. Want to know WHY I personally could care less about your "horrible bank space?"...because I had it too. And guess what I did to help correct the situation. Bought members.
When it all boils down to it, it comes to this thought: Either stop complaining and just buy members to get what you want, or stop complaining and be thankful for what you get for FREE. That's what the ad's do, duh! I am pretty sure that the ad providers pay per page hit (not ad hit). The game-pages get MILLIONS if not BILLIONS of hits every day. That does more than just pay for servers! Members just earn JAGeX more.
Here's a hypothetical situation for you:
Overnnight, JAGeX releases a whole bunch of new, super rare items that are woth 200mil each. There are many of these items, in fact, to many different individual items to bank! Your bank is full and the price of them items is only gonna get higher. Then you go pking. You kill a guy and get some more of these super rare items! But you can't bank them. Inventory is full, bank is full. What do you do? Drop valuable items?
.........I didn't think so. The situation is not that bad, but close to it (the items aint worth that much either.).
There's not much use making this post, because certain people are just going to post the same dam thing over and over.
FOR THE LAST TIME! I AM NOT SAYING, "JAGEX, GIVE ME (insert member benefeit here)!" I am saying, "JAGeX, this (aspect of the game (in my case bankspace)) needs attention, i suggest you give more".
And customer support. We are entitled to at LEAST a few personal responses! I'm about ready to travel to England, destroy that dam computer that sends out the automated replies and dance on the wreckage!
Now i know that some moron is gonna come up with something to flame me about, but that's only because i have pwned them! :D

i am a p2p'er, so my comments may somewhat reflect that i am somewhat naive of f2p, but i try the best to speak fairly
in the end it comes down to the fact that jagex is indeed (contrary to popular belief) a company that NEEDS to make profit. in order to lure f2pers to p2p, they give you a small taste of what there is, and hope that u will lick ur lips and say "hey, i should get members so i can have all of that cool stuff!" if jagex gave f2p all of these cool things that they want, what need would there be to pay 5 bucks a month and go p2p? why pay for something you dont want?
as for updates, f2p DOES need a few updates, not to enhance the gamplay, but to balance things. first off is bank space. as members get more and more items, jagex gives them bankspace to hold those items. when f2p gets a few new things (u have to realize that they havent gotten added bank space in years), they have to find a way to cram it in. also to add to the list of f2p updates should be teleblock. why do members get it? because teleporting can be annoying. why should f2p get it? because teleporting is the way of life for people. another thing to add to the list is magic armor. why does f2p need magic armor? because they have nothing decent, compared to rangers and meleers who have different sets. as for damage that magers can inflict, it may not be as much but it is quite enough when coupled with mage armor to take down meleers, but adding snare and/or entangle would help balance the classes.

I am saying, "JAGeX, this members skill has been around since members was first released, why not release it for free players?". I am also saying "We have had some new items released as well and many people's banks are full of good items. May we have a few rows of space?". I am alos saying "Melee'ers can make their own weapons, mages can too. What about rangers?"
And for that idiot that said that we got good new random events:
Random events are JAGeX's way of stopping autoers. They make them profitable to people so that ppl won't hate them! There are more autoers on F2P than P2P. Therefore, F2P would need more random events as the autoing programs get more complicated.
I know that people pay for what they get. But in my case $5 is not an option... I enjoy F2P and i understand that members SHOULD have more than us. Because they pay! I am not trying to force JAGeX to do anything, just asking them.
I also think that some members have forgotten what it was like in F2P. They were the lucky ones that are either able to pay themselves or convinced thier parents to pay for them. Many people aren't that lucky and paying isn't an option.
Now, members, hold your idiotic flaming until you have really thought about what i have said here. And after you have done that, still don't flame. :)
