Its kilobit not kilobyte Thats a difference of a factor eight. :P 1 bit = 1 bit 1 nibble = 4 bit 1 Byte = 8 bit 1 Kb = 1 kilobit = 1024 bit 1 KB = 1 kilobyte = 8*1024 bit I hope you see this makes a lot of difference. Its a 56K modem means 56kilobit per second. Robbert
