  1. I'd always assumed that members would have higher intelligence than non-members, but this thread just reminded me that no matter what, the average IQ of runescape players is below the norm. Just to make this clear, I am a p2p. However, before some members start spouting random nonsense, first feel free (at your infinite leisure of course) to read the topic before posting. It usually helps to improve the discussion. The OP never said anything about wanting more and more updates. He simply wanted to point out that f2ps are a vital part of the economy, and deserved at least some respect by the members, many of whom, like certain posters, have never actually enjoyed using their minds, and apparently never learned to read beyond a 2nd grade level (author's purpose anyone? How about the theme of the post? Simple things indeed). If you can't figure out how f2p affects the p2p economy, then the most clear example would be rune essences. Normal rune essence was around 30gp last I played. They had just introduced pure essence when I decided to take a break from RS, and the price of pure essence was around 110. Before, when normal ess could be used for everything, rune essence cost around 35 gp. When rune essence was changed into two parts, the f2p essence fell to around 30 gp, while p2p pure essence cost 110 gp. Now, those of you in members who enjoy having certain millions in your banks, consider if you had to play triple times the price for yews, coal etc. Wouldn't be fun would it? That's the point the OP was making. Hopefully I was simple enough for your understanding. Perhaps you guys might want to try looking up "economics' on wikipedia for a basic understanding of supply and demand. Or, if wikipedia's level is far too advanced, feel free to use wikisimple. I tried using as simple words as possible. Excuse me if I wasn't simple enough however, there was only so much I could do to write in an eight year old style.
  2. Thanks, I'll try that. The reason it's hard for me is because I'm only level 53. I just basically trained mage and skills and never did normal combat. Hoping to use quests to get some quick attack/def levels in.
  3. Are you sure? I'm talking about inside the temple. I've already gotten the ingredients for the ammy, I just need to get inside the temple and bind my ammy together in the furnance or w/e. There's also only one entrance to the temple...
  4. I need to get my stupid ammy made, but I can never make it far enough to the trap door. I was wondering, where do people usually do this quest? I want to take advantage during a distraction or something....:).
  5. I went to the coal trucks west of mcgrubor woods, but no one's there anymore. I'm wondering is there a better place to mine coal now? I have 58 mining.
  6. What are satchels? I know they're dropped in tower of life, but what are they used for? What do they do?
  7. are attack spells included as well in them?
  8. Sorry about that I looked for a "questions" forum but somehow glanced over the help and advice part...might be the huge updated sign distracted me.
  9. I keep reading about them, but google as I might, I can't find out what they are. Can someone please help me?
  10. F2Pers ARE an important part of the fan base. I doubt most educated players won't be able to recognize that. RS is not on the same level as WoW or XBox Live games. Rather, its appeal is its large fanbase (of which F2Pers are most definitely included). Thus, from a business standpoint, Jagex will not release F2P updates until F2Pers start to decline, or the rate of growth of F2Pers starts to decline, before which Jagex will start to get worried that their old technology may not actually be able to compete with current games, despite being only half what others charge. So basically, if F2Pers want more updates, they need to stop playing RS so much. Simply quit or retire for a while. I recommend that anyways to all players. I know a lot of players are messing up their lives playing this. Still, I imagine Jagex will remarket itself to foreign countries, perhaps places where lower quality computers still rule, and maybe government officeworkers :). But they'll start losing teenage fans soon if the games I've been hearing about on the horizons start to release.
  11. Why do people get P2P? Because there's more advantages. That being said, if RS was "just" P2P they wouldn't have many members. I'd rather sell out the 60 bucks a year for GW and buy GW updates instead... Still, RS has so many P2P members because it has so many f2p members. If they make the f2p members happier, and actually hold on to their f2p members (most people I know leave RS after a while because of stagnation), then in turn they'll generate more P2P members eventually. F2p also forms the base for the P2P economy. The only way to keep P2P happy is by having huge amounts of F2Pers do all the grunt work for the P2Pers (logs, ess, etc). Thus, in order to at least add "some' change to RS, it'll be beneficial to release a few f2p updates. I'm not talking big updates, I'm saying release snare to f2p in order to better f2p wilderness pking, allow a new member item to be crosstraded with f2p etc....implemented slowly, every few months, simply adding a bit of new materials with no harm at all to p2p members. Most f2pers aren't asking for Castle Wars etc, or staking... BTW I used to be a member...I left RS for a while and returned for a sec because my friend started playing. Dunno when he's going to get tired of it, but when he does I'll probably leave as well.
  12. I'll just be chilling in Varrock East doing my own thing and I get offers to buy Lobbies all the time. It's almost assumed to be 250 each. Buyers buy 100 at a time and put up 25k no haggling. Sometimes I feel I can even push to 300 gp each. Of course this is F2P.
  13. Never knew it was there... 1. Since when has it been there? 2. Why the implement? 3. Possible effects?
  14. I just started playing again and went into wildy today... there's way too many tag teams. Couldn't even get a kill.
