  1. jagex should make luring offers on ebay and such sites, and fake buying offers.

and then they should ban their "costumers" or "sellers"

they can also make a lawsuit against gold selling sites

Im pretty sure theres a law against framing people...

Framing means you make it look like someone did something wrong but they didn't and never intended to. Also, some people are confused about entrapment. Entrapment is when you make someone do something they wouldn't normally do. That wouldn't apply in this case either, because they're already looking to buy/sell gold.
  2. There's a revamp on varrock east bank, also there's a new door.

You can't pass through it, but when you knock it, there are some *knock, knock* jokes.

    Some of them:

    [hide=Knock, Knock jokes]*Knock, Knock*

    Lady Banker: Who's there?

    You: Boo.

    Lady Banker: Boo who?

You: There's no need to cry!

    *Knock, Knock*

    Lady Banker: Who's there?

    You: Doctor.

Lady Banker: Doctor wh... hang on, I'm not falling for that one again! Go away![/hide]

Sorry but the knock, knock jokes and the door is old.

    Came with varrock makeover.

It wasn't wrote down in the first post list.

Anyway, this can be put down on it next time this post gets cleaned.

Yeah, it wasn't put on because the update was part of the Varrok makeover, which wasn't hidden..

Sorry, but no. They didn't come out in the Varrock Makeover, they came with the Grand Exchange. After the makeover there was only bankers in one side of the bank. GF, you tried :XD:

These jokes were available at the NE door in the Varrock bank before the GE came. The ones at the SW door are the same jokes, on a new door.
  3. Everyone wants tree seeds if they like the price. The GE doesn't allow that natural price to be set. That's why they don't sell, not because they are unwanted.
I'm happy to buy tree seeds, but it's no use buying 1000 calquats if I can only plant one at a time. I'd rather buy 1 or 2 of them and come back for more later. People get quite a few calquats at Miscellania, but not all of them farm, so they sell their high level seeds on the GE. This creates a huge supply (and long waiting lines for sellers). People do buy these, they just don't buy ALL of them.
  4. So why are they needed here?
To avoid price manipulation. Read the update.

    Edit:

There is a limit to the amount you can buy or sell items for in the Grand Exchange, which is generally set at 5% above and below the 'market price', and it is impossible to buy outside of these boundaries. This will create a stable economy that cannot be abused by players who seek to manipulate prices to the disadvantage of others.
  5. The only reason anyone has to wait for hours to sell nats or calquat seeds is because there aren't enough buyers. It's the exact same situation as the gas shortages, only in reverse.
True. But there is no waiting in line, as long as this is used as intended. You put your offer up there, do something else, and eventually your transaction will go through. If you're trying to move large amounts of things through quickly, you're probably out of luck. Jagex obviously intended it to work this way, because they only allow 6 items at a time, and you can't immediately resell what you bought (I think).
  6. Well I have huge amounts of flax and maples stored up for this. However I can't sell either at the GE as the minimum price they sell for is more than the current going rate on the forums.
Yes, do not sell it if it's less than you're willing to sell it for. If people do this, the prices will rise to compensate over time. However, why would people buy your stuff on the forums when they can buy it easily and cheaper at the GE?
  7. Then it looks like the market is flooded with nats and they were always being over priced so now that everyone can see how readily available nats are people won't pay as much. I purchased quite a few nats at the 276 GP mark from people willing to sell at that price.
Since most skillers are keen to buy large amounts of nats at >= 300gp, their demand will not go down, and the price will soon jump up to 300 or more. I guess the real struggle is: can people alch faster than runecrafters can craft? Assuming there are many more people who alch than people who runecraft nats and sell them, I'd say the price will go up more than down here.
  8. Am I just missing it or is there no way to just browse what is being offered for sale without putting in a buy offer?

You are correct, there is no browsing possible. You can place a sell offer or you can place a buy offer. And the system will match the offers and make the transaction.

This is going to be a big problem.. at least at first and perhaps beyond that.

Suppose I offer to sell a widget at 10k and someone else offers to buy at 9k. We might both be willing to compromise at 9.5k but right now neither of us can find out that the other even exists.

That is what will maintain the balance within the GE. If you actually wan't to get you're item sold at a reasonable rate of time then you will put a reasonable price, if you put the price very high nobody is going to buy it, therefore it will entice people to put it at the medium or lower price.
Similarly, if you want to make sure you buy something fast instead of waiting all day for it, you'll offer a higher price than the minimum.

5% really is a huge range considering how many people are using/will use this. Prices will stabilize over time just as they did in forums.
