  1. Type of Tool: (Volatile Tool or Morphic Tool A.K.A (Proto-tool)): Volatile Tool

Item Tool Was Used For: (Pick axe, Hatchet, Harpoon, Butterfly Net, Fletching Knife, Hammer, Needle) Hammer

Item Tool Was Used To Obtain/Create: (Fish, Ores, Logs, Anything That Requires A Butterfly Net, Fletched Items, Smithed Items, Crafted Items): Iron Nails

    Experience Each Item Gave:55 Xp/bar

Percent Of Tool Used Per Item: not sure. It's about 125 bars per 10% xp. Having used 15 volatile tools, I'm nearly certain that's correct

    Total Experience Gained:6875/10%

Fletching lasts for about 70 maple longs (u)/10%, or about 85 willow longs (u)/10%. I think each willow long was around 137.5 xp each

Not sure about the pickaxe, but I think it lasts around 4k xp give or take 1.5k per 10%

  2. New:

So today, I got 70 herblore. That puts me at all stats 70+!

In exactly one month, I got one mage level, one agility level, three herblore levels, three thieving levels, two crafting levels, one fletching level, one slayer levels, one mining level, seven smithing levels, one fishing level, one firemaking level, one woodcutting level, two farming levels, and two summoning levels.

Going f2p in a few days.

Today I reached 1900 total. I've been playing and lurking on this board since around 2005. I started playing right before Easter 2005 but took a big break from 2007 to late 2008. I recently bought 3 months of members and have a month left. Currently going for all stats 70+; I have summon banked.

Missing stats: 70 Cons, 72 Hunter, 68 Summon

    Rate, whatever.

Tell me what I could work on.

  3. I'm nearly 100% certain that level 41 flesh crawlers do NOT drop silver bars on f2p.

I'm also 100% certain that these flesh crawlers do not drop steel arrows.

I've killed well over 8,000 of them without a silver bar drop or steel arrow drop in f2p. The zombies near flesh crawlers do drop steel arrows with a high frequency so maybe someone killed one by accident and left arrows lying around.

  4. Disabling certain gathering/producer skills such as woodcutting, fishing, anything which gathers raw materials -> That would completely cripple the economy. Financial crisis, anyone?

That would completely destroy RuneScape. :o

Haha. Perhaps. Removing certain aspects, like PVP or trade would mar the game pretty badly too. Of course, we're already swaying in between the void now.

  5. Combat: 109 F2P 117 P2P

    Total: 1806

Cash: 12m :S -> I'm such a poor nub. I waste all my money on fun stuff, like cw.

Total bank worth ~30m now, depending on how much blue mask fluctuates. I bought the mask at 24m two years ago. Bad investment.

  6. Hehe, I actually remember quite clearly what I was doing. Back when trade prices weren't designated and players decided for themselves what to buy and sell for, I would kill chickens. Mind you this was around 3 or 4 years ago when I first started so I didn't exactly have the level to go and do double nats or something of the like. I'd sell for 5-10 gp each whenever I killed a few chickens (I'm an impatient person) and felt pretty good when I sold off like, 25 feathers for a few hundred gp. I feel pretty lucky now cause compared to some other methods people used (killing men, picking up respawns), I made cash relatively quickly. ::'

Oh man. You had it easy :P

I did the same exact thing, but I started a bit earlier. I sold my feathers for a grand total of anywhere between 2-4 gp each. It took me ages to get that 1k, but it felt so good. I think I got my first 10k from that too, with a little side help when someone died.

  7. I have to agree, F2p could definitly use some new weaponry. "dragon" isnt my first vote, unless it's adjusted dragon, with no special, *slightly* weaker, and under different names.

To those arguing that f2p are simply freeloaders... lmao, lets just see how well you do once they're gone

You like you're ore ready and available at the click of a button? wood? food? essence?

No dice, resources would sky-rocket in price substantially, membership would probably go up in price, and expect lots of members to leave. f2p ads bring in enough to keep the game running and then some, p2p fees are used for development and paying the people who work for jagex.

    so f2p= easy cashcow

more content in f2p=more people willing to play runescape for the amount of free content available

    more players= more potential members

more members and more f2p= more money

more money=better, faster, and more rewarding updates, more often.

There is NO downside to giving to f2p, apart from the fact that most members are too damn stuck up to see that its a good thing!

I've been a member, I've been f2p, I'm neutral whether anyone gets updates or not, but it makes me mad when people go on righteous rants about how f2p are worthless dirt who just sap money and content from members, and give no benefit for their existence.

They supply members with raw resources, and supply the company with large amounts of money.

I agree. Well written. Without f2p supporting the economy, RS's economy would suffer a financial crisis. [Hmm. Sound familiar?] Bad things would happen. Prices would fluctuate greatly, and once the f2p-produced raw material supply would dry up, prices would sky rocket, effectively killing skilling. Everyone would be forced to grind out

I think a few [really, few] weapons around level 50 would be a nice addition. Perhaps give members an added bonus of a special attack, or something along those lines.

However, that would unbalance the already unbalanced combat triangle, so I think adding like one or two spells and an average level 50 range weapon would do nicely.

Just because we don't pay out of our own pocket to play this game doesn't mean that we're not supporting Jagex in any way. We're not freeloading. Without f2p, Runescape would head towards Ruinscape.

  8. Morning, gotta agree with you on that one. I've been playing since early 2005, and had no idea what I was doing. I think by December of 2005 I was like level 40? I still only play for fun once in awhile, and don't really care about levels so much.

Inefficiency and playing for fun made the game much more appealing to a younger me. Now, it's just grinding and whatnot.

Playing for a substantial length allows you to share experience with newer players, and teach them about what they've missed, and not had a chance to experience. I don't believe it should be used so much for bragging rights as just to open people's eyes about the gaming community's history and changes as a whole.

  9. Give me one good reason why you deserve to gain members only content when you don't pay and have been leeching off a free version of the game.

Lets see, I was a paying member for 3 and a half years, now I'm F2P so I can focus on school rather then play 'scape. :ugeek:

    Don't assume that because I'm F2P, I havn't been a member *EVER* I've been a member longer then F2P. :wall:

Because Jagex needs content to lure high-mid level loyal f2pers into the P2p realm, and cheap corrupt dragon weapons aren't going to cut it, because most of those players wouldn't try them anyway, waste of money. Many f2p players level up to the requirements for the best available weapons and armour, get bored and see no point in training further and quit: Loss of base for Jagex.

  10. F2p has already received a bucketload of updates (including a quest, plenty of items and weapons to rival members' weapons) this year. Why need to suggest something that is already happening?

Puh leeze...I challenge you to name a single viable f2p weapon which borders on something like the whip or godswords for training. Sure we have corrupted weapons, but they're not a viable source for training..I doubt many f2p have a few hundred k per hour to waste on such weapons, while getting little or no return from their investments.

Omali, if only it were as simple as you stated. Some of us, like myself, would very much like to get members, and have the money to do so. It's other factors such as parents who limit us. There are many younger players who have no way of getting members, because their parents won't allow them to do so. Also, like many people said before, Jagex does make a significant amount from the ad revenue of f2p. It's probably higher now that we have to watch the ad for 10 seconds.

Oh, by the way. Before anyone flames me for being p2p, I've been p2p for a total of 3 months, and f2p for ~3 and a half years, or more.

I certainly wouldn't mind getting more updates. The game does get quite dreary after awhile of grinding out skills. That's probably one of the reasons I'm semi-retired now instead of an active player.
