  1. Actually, you're wrong. Runetips currently has 107664 registered members. Let's go WAAAAAAY off, and say only half of those people play runescape. Thats still 50 thousand people. On a good day, rs has 140 thousand people. Thats more than a THIRD of all the people that play runescape. If everyone on runetips wanted to get jagex's attention.. they could do it without even having to TRY.
  2. Very Well expressed. A great example, would be my friend. He recently obtained a a party hat from a friend, which he was allowed to merchant, to make some money. (A few 100K per merchant... you can make some decent money, right? Fair, Right?) So, he merchanted himself all the way to a dragon chain, and merchanted those 2 items, all the way up to a red party hat. He returned the party hat to his friend, and then had his own red phat to merchant. Over the period of a month, he obtained a full party hat set (He had about no life, for a month... heh :P) So, he says to himself... "Wow.. I have a party hat set now.. I wanna keep it safe." So I told him he'd be welcome to store a few of the phats on a pure account I have, incase he gets password stolen. (His password changed by someone who guessed enough information to change it.) So, he gave me the purple and white partyhats, when I logged into my pure account, and I banked them. This way, if his main account got pass changed, he'd still have something to work with. So, he finds a buyer for his party hat set, and tells me he needs the white and purple ones. I go to login, and the account has been banned for "Real world item trading." A player worked hard to earn these things, and the account was just perm banned like that. No inquiries as to how it was obtained, just a perm ban. When I went to get it unbanned, I didn't get anywhere. Just a big fat N0. Jagex needs to straighten up.. or they're losing my 5 bucks a month. :x
  3. Very well said, I think you hit the nail right on the head... the extra few keys are probably worth not losing the 20 percieved IQ points. Bloody Ace 8)
  4. Header Note: If anyone wants to sticky this, thats okay, but It's not really a huge-tastic guide. :P F2P Members: 1. Write DIFFICULT recovery questions, make sure that they're something hard, perhaps something like your favorite song, personal interests in something wierd (IE: You really like artistic pictures of mountains, or you really like jazz.. even though your friends think you listen to green day all day. Or your favorite color of underwear  Never anything like your friends B-day, or best friends name, or teachers names, because that stuff can be too easily guessed. 2. Make your password around a particular word, and numbers as well, so its less difficult for people to guess at. Example: Whiteboard251, Dictionary1272 (DO NOT USE THE SAME NUMBER AS YOUR BANK PIN.) Harddrive196, shoeleather267, garden163, and things like that. Try to pick words that are completely disasociated with anything you like (IE: If you play guitar, Guitar444) as these could also be guessed, and if possible, try not to do 222,333,444, ETC, as someone who might guess the word, could also guess the numbers by doing the 9 sets! :? A few more words I thought of... lampshade, telescope, pictureframe, deskjet, tapeplayer, dvdrom. Just incase you cant think of one. :) 3. Set a bank pin, and set the deletion time to 7 Days. It's harder for non-membs to get their accounts back as quickly, because they dont have a members payement agreement number, which is kinda like the auto win for getting your account back (Members, see the members bit for info on this. :) ) Dont use things like 1992 IE, year you were born, or the day 1-9-92. Which could also be a B-day. Try to just guess a random number, and NEVER do 1111, 2222, 1234, etc. Things like 5271, and 1916 are pretty good, as they dont repeat numbers, and they don't resemble any important things, IE, bday years. :) Members. For Recovery questions, and passwords, see the F2P guide, as these things don't differ, also see the F2P guide for pin making. :) One BIG thing that gets members their accounts back NEARLY INSTANTLY, is SAVE YOUR AGREEMENT INFO! When you sign up to be a member, print out the page, and save it, put it in a drawer, or a safe place where you'll remember it! Having this number INSTANTLY gets your account back. It's like an auto win, and the hackers can't change it ONE BIT. :D If you're a member but you don't have the info anymore, just cancel your members for a day, then renew it, or check the e-mail you registered the account to at the begginging of the month, for the $5 transaction, which also includes your agreement number. 8) Hope this helps everyone stay safe! And happy Runescaping! :D
