Giant Mole is the easiest to defense high lv monster. And it only use melee to attack. Some people like to hunt giant mole because it drops mole claws and mole skins. Those can trade to be bird nests and get some high lv seeds. Or they want to get some experience to hunt other strong, high lv monster. 1. Prepare for the hunting Before go to the hunting. You need to think your level is high enough to kill the giant mole. Level Recommendations: Combat lv 90 - at least def lv 80 when you don't use prayer. - at least prayer lv 43 Att and str lv 85+ with prayer lv 43+ Ranged lv 80+ If your lv has already reach the recommendation, then you need to decide do you hunt it by yourself or gather a team. It is easy for you to kill mole by yourself. Secondly, you should bring 3 most important thing. Those are a tinderbox, a spade and a lamp (bullseye lantern lens and mining helm is more recommendable). After that, What will you use for this hunting. You can follow them below: Melee: Many people who hunt mole wear rune set or no rune helm with a berserker helm. Some people choose barrow armour. Those can give high defensive bonus. So, you should wear rune set or higher defensive than rune's armour or with berserker helm. Toktz-Ket-Xil (shield) or rune defender. You can also wear barrow armour like guthan's set or Dharok's set. Wield climbing boots or rune boots, also wealth of ring. Wield whip. Poison is very helpful, bring a dragon dagger (p++). Bring super set can help you hit more. Bring food, should be better than lobster. Bring teleport and prayer potion if you need safe. Prayer (strongest recommendation): Prayer is good choice. You do not need to prepare a lot of thing. Wear prayer armour like initiate set, proselyte set, monk set or Verac's set. Same, wield whip, climbing/rune boots, abby shield/rune defender, bring dds. Bring super potion. Dragon battle axe is ok for its special attack. Bring a attack potion if you use dbaxe. Food, teleport and prayer are optional. Ranged: Ranged can stay for a long time because of no need prayer and food. Wear black d'hide set or Karil's set, wield magic shortbow/crystal bow. Wear some have ranged bouns boots and helm. If do not have, wear lightness of boots, and nothing on head. Wield at least 200 good arrow. Also, dds is very helpful too. If necessary, use poisonous arrow, then no need dds. Optional: Bring magic longbow to fire mole from far. Some normal arrow to fire mole. Bring prayer potion, food and teleport. Not recommend to use dragon halberd. It will take long time to kill it. NO magic for this hunting. It is a high magic defence monster. 2. Going to mole channel After the preparation, go to Falador park. There are some mole holes. Dig it, you go to mole channel. Then, go to medium of the mole channel which is a large area. You may see a giant mole. In the mini map. you see a yellow point. It is surely giant mole, there is no other monster. Mole babies do not show in the mini map. If you see it, don't worry it attack you when you walk nearby it because he is not aggressive (I can also call it "kind" monster). If you cannot see it, or you see some hunter is killing or waiting mole. Then I suggest you to change the world. 3. Hunting If you find a good world for hunting, don't wait anymore! Let for a battle. For Melee: Before you attack the giant mole, you should drink super potion. And then use dds special attack until dds give mole some damage (that mean it have been poisoned). Then change whip quickly. During the battle, always watch your hp. DONT be too low because it can hit 25s. I recommond if your hp is below 50, then you must eat food. For prayer: Use dbaxe special attack first, then change it to dds. Turn on your melee protection and give damage from dds. Change whip quickly. If prayer lv is below 60, prayer can only use for one battle. Don't worry that you need prayer potion. Just go out and go to Port Sarim altar to rechange prayer or teleport to your own house to rechange it (But you need construction lv 45 to build altar). For ranged: Turn on melee protection and give damage from dds (use 25% special attack, dont use all). Then run to safe point, use ranged to attack it. If you have poisonous arrows, then don't need to do dds' part. (Remember, when your east or sorth is wall and the wall is raised, there always is a safe point). If you need to take back your arrows, turn on your prayer will be better. 4. Find out the giant mole After the giant mole's hp is below 50%, hunters think that will be troublesome and annoying. Giant mole digs. If you are too near giant mole digging area, your lamp will go out. But no effect for bullseye lantern lens and mining helm (That's why I recommend you to use them). Giant mole dug, you need to find out where it is. There is two method to kill mole: Poison: If you are afraid to find it, this method can help you. When you find the mole, just follow it and wait poison to kill it. If the poisonous damage is too few, you need to attack it with poisonous weapon. Fight: If you wanna get more exp and dont wanna take a long time for waiting it to die. You find and attack it. It sometimes dig quickly but sometimes attack you. At the time, I suggest you to turn on your sound. If there is a special sound, that mean it dies. If you are not nearby it, u need search all dig out point quickly. If you are team, it may be better to kill it, but may also be worse. You can tell your team member to go difference dig out point to search it. But when you have 2 people to attack mole, or one is attacking, another is coming to attack, it is very clever. It digs immediately. 5. After the battle When it dies, it will drop a big bones, some mole claws/skins and a ramdom thing. You can go to eastern of Falador park. There is a house and a NPC called Wyson the gardener. Talk to him and trade mole claws/skins for bird nest.
