  1. Hey guys, still working. Project due in like two hours. I haven't slept yet. I haven't studied at all for chemistry. Definitely taking a nap after I turn this in. I can sleep for like, an hour? That's [bleep]ing abysmal. I could probably actually sleep for two but I really need to study. Gotta stop typing this and work.

Good luck sleeping for one hour. It's harder than it seems.

  2. Yesterday evening started as a relaxing evening here at my place. We got together, gamed a bit, then watched a movie. Then at 12 AM we suddenly went out and bought 2 bottles of vodka for 5 people, since it would be the last time we could go crazy before we all have to start cramming. We ended up going out around 3, and went home just before 6. Now we're all hungover, but what an evening though.

  3.

Easiest time to go home, and most drinking places tend to full of non-students (people who work full time) as well.

It does sort of kill the 'student vibe', although to be honest, speaking as a slightly older student, I don't think that's such a bad thing.

I understand that it's the easiest time to go home, I just don't understand the logic.

Here in Belgium it's also the habit to go home from uni in the weekends. For us, the town where our university is, is about 45 mins by train from our hometown. It's far enough that it's much easier to find a place at the city you study at and stay there all week, but not too far that you can't go home every weekend to enjoy proper cooking and such.

  4. I kinda got pushed into fixing my sleep schedule, didn't get a bit of sleep last night, despite actually being in my bed, and feeling tired enough to sleep. I just never fell asleep, then decided to wake up at 9 together with my friend who crashed here. He ended up sleeping longer, and I just started my morning. Anyway, hoping to stay awake till this evening and then sleep so hard.

  5.

My sleep schedule is completely messed up. For the past week i have been getting to sleep after 4 AM and waking up after 1 PM... And that means skipped classes aswell. I am worried about this and yet I don't know what to do...

Happened to me while i was in the US, and it's happening again right now. For the past few months i've been going to bed when the sun comes up. Doesn't bother me really because i'm more productive at night. But when i was flying it was a big issue.

Anyway, easiest way to fix it is to stay awake the next day. Drink coffee, energy drinks, whatever. Keep yourself busy. Around 8pm you're going to be so tired you won't be able to move. You'll pass out and sleep for like 14 hours, wake up the next day and things should be pretty much back to normal.

Just make sure to stay busy that day. I've tried this a number of times, and when all I can do is browse the internet I'll just get too drowsy around the afternoon. But I remember one day at work where I'd only slept 2 hours after a hard evening of being at a festival, when I was working I could stay awake, but once I took a break I almost fell asleep in the break room.

I'm having the same problem right now, waking up too late for classes. I'm not looking forward to the exams in January. It also sucks cause it'll be the first time I can't properly celebrate my birthday since it'll be in the middle of exams. My last 3 birthdays were some of the best days of my life, and now I'll just be studying.

  6. Yeah, it's not that I'd lose all contact to her, and I'm used to not seeing her a lot since she's been in college, where I only saw her on weekends, but it'll still feel weird not having her around. I've had a lot of pleasant conversations with her (and of course a lot of not so pleasant conversations, but that's sibling love for ya) and I don't feel like we could have those same kind of conversations over the internet or whatever.

Anyway, I made the transition from Firefox to Chrome today. Firefox wasn't what it used to be for me for a while, and now this week it suddenly stopped being able to load Facebook and I got sick of having to open a different browser for that so I just switched to Chrome.

  7. Some here may know that my family's originally from Egypt. My sister, who graduated in law here in Belgium last year, is in Egypt right now doing an internship for the Belgian embassy in Cairo. I called her yesterday and she said that she's looking for a job in Egypt now, and planning to stay there after she's done at the embassy. My sister will basically be living on a different continent.

  8.

And Lithuania isn't in Eastern Europe, get your facts straight.

Hey, where the heck is Lithuania if it isn't in Eastern Europe? It only is (almost) my neighbouring country and I have been there like 6 or even more times, so can you please tell me where it is?

In other news, I am at home for the first time in 2 weeks. Immediately my brothers started bothering me about video games... 24/7.

It's like they belong to a different generation, it is all they can think of. And our age difference is only 3 years.

I was just remembering that one discussion we had a while ago, I wasn't really being serious. :)

  9. Got drunk as hell yesterday to celebrate one of my best friends' birthday, and taking shrooms later today with a few other friends. All in all, I think my weekend was well-planned.

  10. My friends and I did a trip through Europe this September. If I may suggest one thing when it comes to transportation: use Eurolines buses. They're the cheapest way to get from city to city and they're usually pretty comfortable. Looking at your list of cities though, they're really scattered throughout Europe and if you'd take a bus from for example Budapest to Barcelona I think you'd be travelling for 2 days. If you're arriving in Budapest I'd certainly suggest going to Vienna, which is only a one-hour drive from there if I recall correctly. Prague is also a must-see city in that area of Europe. Berlin is also really worth it, but it's a huge city so make sure you have enough time to visit it. We talked to a Polish girl when we were in Prague who told us Krakow is more beautiful than Warsaw. I wouldn't know myself, but might be worth checking it out.

  11. The fact Bass Drum of Death is on GTA V's soundtrack. My friend and I saw them a few years ago when they played at a small, local venue near where we live. It was basically just a show in a bar with about 20 people there. Afterwards we even had a chat with the guys from the band. The moment my friend told me they were in GTA V I was baffled, and every time their song comes up on the radio I just smile as I listen to it.

  12.

Yesterday I drank a full bottle of liquor on my own for the first time, and won me 5 euros doing it. It was only 20% though. Luckily, it had gotten me drunk in a way I couldn't walk properly, while still functioning decently on other aspects.

I hope you mean a two-six and not a forty

I had to consult urbandictionary for this one, but I do mean a two-six.

  14. Absinthe can be added to my list. I drank it for the first time on the trip through Europe. The first time was in Berlin, where we drank shots at a club, and the second time in Prague when we bought a good quality bottle in an absinth store and drank it while playing cards. It gets you a different kind of drunk where you're more euphoric and active.

  15. I've finally gotten internet in my dorm in Ghent, and it's way faster than what I have at home (according to the speed test it was around 30 mbps). My friend and I also smoked with the guy from the ISP who came to install it here.
