I mean, i'm still stuck in Port Sarim. How do i get to the island?

So I tried this quest once, and I died. Now when I go to the boat to repair the ship, it says "You don't need to mess about the broken ships now that you have found the secret passage from Karamja". Then I went to Ned, and he says that he'll meet me at the ship, but he never shows up. What do I do now?
