  1. Yes they are estimates - from the posts i have seen so far nearly everyone gets their head or big fish before the maximum. However, the amount you need to kill or fish is random so it could be even higher. Also due to the relatively small amount of people who have got a big fish or monster head there isnt much information on numbers so these are just 'best guesses' and may be very far off. I think the main thing is just keep trying and youll get one eventually - even though it's likely to take some time. Hope that answered your question.
  2. Trophies are a new item to add to your house to display your skill prowess. There are two types of trophies, monster head trophies and fish trophies, which can be displayed in your skill hall(s). This is a link to the knowledge database page on skill halls: http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/ ... le_id=2564 There are two types of trophies, monster head trophies and fish trophies. To make them you need to get either a monster head or a special type of fish (a big fish). You can then get them stuffed at the taxidermist in Canifis for a fee. Please see the Construction NPC page in the knowledge database for more info on the taxidermist: http://kbase.runescape.com/lang/en/aff/ ... le_id=2557 To display the trophy in your skill hall you need to construct it with the stuffed head or fish and its corresponding construction material. You can only make the trophy if you have the right construction level. Refer to the skill hall page in the knowledge database for this. This guide is here to answer common questions about how to get your hands on a monster head or one of the big fish. The types of big fish you can get are, with price to stuff: Big Bass - 1k gp Big Swordfish - not known yet Big Shark - 5k gp The types of monster head you can get are, with price to stuff: Crawling Hands (Not really a head but yeah) - 1k gp Cockatrice - 2k gp Basilisk - 4k gp Kurask - 6k gp Abssyal Demon - 12k gp King Black Dragon - 50k gp Kalphite Queen - 50k gp You have to be the sufficient fishing level to fish the right fish. For example, you need to be 76+ fishing level to get the big shark Similarly for the monster heads you need to be the right slayer level for the slayer monsters. Firstly, the chances of getting a monster head or a big fish are RANDOM. Some people get them after a few fish caught/monsters killed and for others it takes hundreds or into the thousands to get them. So just keep at it and you will get one eventually. Here are some common questions about the big fish and monster heads: Do the big fish look any different from the normal fish? Yes they look slightly bigger and they identify as big (bass, swordfish, shark) Are there any special fishing spots for catching these fish? None known Do you have to be a certain construction level to catch these fish or obtain the monster head? Nope, you can be any construction level. But you need to right construction level to make the trophies Do you need to talk to the taxidermist before you can get the big fish or the monster heads? No Do the big fish/monster heads take up a separate space in your bank? Yes Do the big fish appear in your inventory or on the floor? They appear in your inventory Do the monster heads appear in your inventory or on the floor? They are a drop so they appear on the floor after you have killed the monster Do you need to be doing the corresponding slayer task to obtain a monster head of a slayer monster? No Are big fish or monster heads tradeable? No definately not. Or it would destroy the whole point of them being a display of your skill prowess Do you have to kill big or small crawling hands to get the crawling hand monster head? You can kill either the big or small hands or both Here are the approximate maximum amounts recorded so far that a player has had to fish/kill before they obtain a big fish or monster head. Big Bass: ~2000 Big Swordfish: ~2000 Big Shark: ~2000 Crawling Hands: ~1000 Cockatrice: ~1000 Basilisk: ~1000 Kurask: ~800 Abssyal Demon: ~1000 King Black Dragon: Not very much info on these Kalphite Queen: Not very much info on these Remember these are maximums so you should get it before them but if not be patient and youll get it eventually. Any other information on big fish or monster heads or corrections please post and I will add it to the guide and credit you. Thanx and happy monster head hunting or big fish fishing. N.B. 4. This was posted by Shadorik on the runescape forums in a topic called .:Bass Records Page:. which was created by Grishnack quote/ NOTE:I have averaged this out from other players comments Name:Big Bass Catches To Obtain:200-600 Rate:1 In 1000 Name:Big Swordfish Catches To Obtain:400-1200 Rate:1 In 1500 Name:Big Shark Catches To Obtain:700-2000 Rate:1 In 2100 Name:Crawling Hand Killing To Obtain:100-800 Rate:1 In 400 Name:Cockarice Kills To Obtain:300-900 Rate:1 In 700 Name:Basilisk Kills To Obtain:500-700 Rate:1 In 900 Name:Kurask Kills To Obtain:600-800 Rate:1 In 1000 Name:Abyssal Demon Kills To Obtain:200(YUP)-600 Rate:1 In 500 Name:KBD(King Black Dragon) Kills To Obtain:------- Rate:------- Name:KQ(Kalphite Queen) Kills To Obtain:30-70 Rate:1 In 50 ~~~~~~~~~ Note that these are just my averaged out estimates, some can be correct, others can't,luck has a factor in this. /quote I dont quite inderstand the averaging but oh well Other questions answered from this topic were: Do the big fish look any different from the normal fish: Yes they look slightly bigger and they identify as big (bass, swordfish, shark) Are there any special fishing spots for catching these fish? None known Do you have to be a certain construction level to catch these fish or obtain the monster head? Nope, you can be any construction level. But you need to right construction level to make the trophies Do you need to talk to the taxidermist before you can get the big fish or the heads? No Do the big fish take up a separate space in your bank? Yes Do the big fish appear in your inventory or on the floor? They appear in your inventory So basically once you get a big fish or monster head you need to take it to the taxidermist in canifis to get it stuffed. It costs some money to get it stuffed. Then you need your stuffed fish or head with the right construction materials to make it into a trophy. The chance of getting a monster head or a big fish are RANDOM. Some people get them after a few fishes caught/monsters killed and others it take hundreds to get them. So just keep at it and you will get one eventually. Any other questions or information please post and ill try to find out the answer. If anyone knows if the monster heads or big fish are tradeable please post for definate. My guess is they aren't because it would defeat the object of displaying them for your skill prowess. Lastly sorry if anyone else has posted all this before. Thanx and happy monster head hunting or big fish fishing.
