Yes, pure is basically the same a regualar essence before the difference is that there isn't as much of it, cause f2p can't mine it. Therefore it is more money

you just answered your own question... If there are "so many more productive ways" to make money, then a player that can do one of them will do that and then use the money to buy ess. I am getting ready to train RCing, and was going to go mine 12k ess, when i realized i could buy it for around 350k, which doesn't take me that long to make by selling fish. So that's what i am doing instead.
