I think that RS2 is "dead" already and has been for the last year. I would give it another 2 years at the most before Jagex realises this and bings out a new version (or even another game entirely). The problem, IMO, is that Jagex are slowly making the game too easy just to satisfy the "children" who want everything immediately. Soon it will be "click" .. "click" - Congratulatiosn you are now level 99 in skil X.

 

 

 

If Jagex want to save the game they should go back to the original ideas of the game. The original ideas of the game were to take a character with no skills whatsoever and develop that character, OVER TIME, into a well-rounded and competant character within the RS community. NOT lets see how much money we can make (which seems to be the driving force of most of the more recent players).

 

 

 

IMO in order to improve the game, and thus increase its lifespan, some drastic measures need to be taken. Some of the things I wouild like to see happen are :

 

 

 

1) remove the "rares" from the game - these are not part of the original idea of the game, but were created in error by Jagex.

 

 

 

2) remove all the mini-games - these are, in a lot of cases, a quick experiance gain and, to be honest, detract from the role-playing aspect of RS. I cannot think of any other game of this genre that has these type of "in-game" games. If you want to go play these sort of silly mini-games there are plenty out there on the internet.

 

 

 

3) restrict trading to buying/selling in in-game shops and buying from player owned shops - this would immediately remove the aspects of the game that cause things like luring and scamming and thus, in the long term make the game more attractive. It would also get rid of beggers, as you would no longer be able to give free stuff and it would make the beggars actually work for a living.

 

 

 

4) increase the number of long hard quests, whilst at the same time making quest rewards better - what I am talking about are quests in the format of Recipe for Disaster. The format of the RFD quest, where you require different skill levels, etc for each part, if expanded would encourage players to "go back to the basics" and start increasing their skills again.

 

 

 

5) expand the wilderness - in fact I would even go as far as saying bring back the RSC idea of "wilderness" everywhere, with a few "safe" spots. However, linked to this players should have the ability to choose what items they wish to keep (up to a linit, of course) when they die.

 

 

 

6) remove all links between P2P and F2P - in other words common items (eg logs, weapons, armour ect.) in each version are unusable in the other.

 

 

 

7) less updates, but better quality updates - I would rather have 1 quality update a month than weekly updates of dubious quality.

 

 

 

Before you start to flame me, I know some of these are contentious and would, in reality not happen (for various reason), but just consider how much better the game would be if they were implmented. I also realise that some of the suggestions would make the game "harder", but if that detracts a few of the immature "I want everything NOW" players who, in the RS community, really cares (apart from Jagex, who want to make as much money as they can).

Ok So you want to pk right? Well first you need to know the terms:

 

 

 

F2P: Free to play

 

P2P: pay to play (members)

 

Wilderness: the place you go playerkilling

 

Pking: 99.9% refered to Playerkilling. (other .1% is retarts that mean its something else)

 

Pure: A account that you make that speciallizes in 1 type of combat

 

hybrid: like a pure, but it speciallizes in 2 types of combat

 

Impure: speciallizes in everything (has the same stats)

 

Death dot: worst thing you should ever get into ill explain later

 

 

 

 

 

Ok now types of pures:

 

 

 

Melee: this usually has a high strengh ( 60+) and a pretty high attack too (40+ f2p 60+ P2P) and has a low defence (1-10)

 

Range: this is the more expensive one, and more longer to train, it has no defence, and only range

 

Mage: this is the most expensive one and has really high magic lvl

 

hybrid: this is 2 of the mage, range, melee pures put together, this is pretty strong

 

 

 

 

 

ok you want to fight:

 

 

 

First, you need food! I suggest also train fishing and cooking to 60 so you can make your own food.

 

Next, you might want to train prayer to your choosing ( i suggest around 50+)

 

Next, you definately want armour. and weapons (well i was hoping you knew that so...)

 

Now hop that stupid ditch and then your in.

Here are some strategies that pkers use but first:

 

 

 

WHAT IS PKING??

 

Pking is when you go into the wilderness ( or wildy) at attack players. Pking stands for player killing ( Player Killing PK)

 

 

 

Sneak Grouping

 

 

 

Ive encountered this so many times. Sneak Grouping is when you are fighting someone in lvl 1 wildy that is 1 lvl lower than you and you are winning by a little, and a guy that is 1 lvl higher that is his friend comes and attacks you. Here are some strategies

 

 

 

The lower lvl that is double teaming: Make sure you have food, youre just a decoy. this way he dies before you do

 

 

 

The guy getting double teamed: if the higher attacker is attacking by a different way like mage, range or melee, make sure you have protect from whatever he is using

 

 

 

The higher lvl that is double teaming: Dont mess this up, you have to kill this guy, if not, the lower dies, and u kill the higher, keep all the stuff!!

 

 

 

 

 

This is also what happens in with groups of clans

 

 

 

Death dot

 

 

 

worst way to die, unless you are in it. This is when you are all alone in like the lvl 20 wildy and u see a guy 15 lvls lower than u. U left click and attack him not knowing there are guys 10 lvls higher than you are right under him. You attack and 10 guys pop out and all 1 hit u.

 

 

 

In the death dot: Good luck u will definitely win.

Strategies

 

 

 

Mages: you have the upper hand. You can hit pretty high, But i suggest you use that all on rangers. U need alot of food and lvl 41 prayer for protect from range. You can own Warriors

 

 

 

Rangers: You can kill magers easily, but warriors you have to look out for. make sure you have 43 prayer so you can protect from them.

 

 

 

Warriors: make sure you have 39 pray for mages so that you dont die from them. Warriors, make sure your strenght is around 5-10 lvls higher than your attack and alot above your defence. this gives the upper hand.

Melee Pure Guide

 

 

 

Well first you should know :You can Have Defence, just not alot of Defence ill say around 5

 

 

 

Beggining

 

 

 

You should first start out with chickens, keep all the feathers and bones and bury all the bones. Get 5 defence here! also train here to lvl 15 attack and Strengh. this is where you start getting higher strengh then attack.

 

 

 

After those chickens

 

 

 

Ok by now, you should have a decent amount of Feathers ( a hell of a lot of feathers!). Sell them for 5-10 gp and buy addy 2h for now, but u cant use it yet. Store it. And now start attacking farmers till attack lvl 25 and strengh lvl 30. Now u should have also a good amount of money ( well not good amount but decent.) Also keep the bones

 

 

 

The starting of Steel armor

 

 

 

Buy steel armor and use that for pking, also you should start a trade skill so you can buy that rune weapon, i suggest mining like i did in the mage guide but you can do whatever on this one. Start training on guards till 40 attack and 50 strenght. Keep the bones!

 

 

 

Rune weapon and killer str

 

 

 

Ok you started ur trade skill and you get a good amount of money, now u should try to find someone with rune 2h once u do, buy it and start training on Mogers till lvl 60 attack and 70 str.

 

 

 

P2p And Beyond

 

 

 

This is where you need your high trade skill, once you become a member. Do all the quests on free and do lost city and heroes, this way you can get most of the dragon weapons. Get a Dragon B- Axe and Start training on experements till lvl 80 attack and 99 str. now buy that d2h and your set. Make sure u bury those bones! you should be high enough pray fot protect from melee.

 

 

 

Pking

 

 

 

F2p: If you have really high str and high attack with rune 2h and full steel, your set to kill rangers, but make sure mages will kill you, protect from them

 

 

 

P2p: You will own no mater wat, if there are pure mages, watch out, the highest they can hit is 30. rangers can hit double 26, but you can own them. The highest you can hit is 45. Here is what u need to equiped:

Beggining

 

Ranging is the second most expensive skill, but in the end, it is just about worth it

 

 

 

The basics:

 

well first you will need a bow, and full leather. full leather costs about 500 gp. So you need a trade skill.

 

 

 

few trade skills:

 

 

 

Woodcutting:

 

normal logs nobody buys, oak nobody buys, willows, good amount of people buy so you can sell them for around 25-50 each. Maple logs lots of people buy, sell for 100 each. Yew logs lots of people buy sell these for 250-300 each. Magics (if you are a member) some people buy them, just a few, you can still sell them, these are 1k each

 

 

 

Mining:

 

great skill, get this up to 30 as quick as you can. you can sell coal for 100- 150 ea, but u can also smith, which i will list soon. you can sell mith for 500-600 ea, addy for 1k ea, and the best, rune, for 10k each!

 

 

 

Smithing:

 

Also a great skill if you are high. Lets start with steel. Steel goes for 500-600 each, Addy goes for 1500-2k each and rune goes for 12k each!

 

 

 

Fishing:

Crafting:

 

I dont know anything about this

 

 

 

Cooking: I dont know anything about this

 

 

 

 

 

OK BACK TO RANGING:

 

 

 

first get your designated trade skill to 60, for smithing, u need mining up there too!

 

 

 

Now depending on what skill you got, get in order:

 

 

 

200 bronze arrows

 

700 iron arrows

 

4k steel arrows

 

50k mith arrows

 

-- addy arrows (pking only)

 

 

 

ok, get as much as this as you can, make sure when u get 200 bronze, go for iron, if u dont have enough for them all, buy some and get the rest later, it wont take 3 mins just to get this so be patient!

 

 

 

ok first, range on cows in the cow place. Do this till you are around lvl 20. this will use around 200 bronze arrows. now buy oak bow and start ranging farmers untill you use up all ur bronze and iron arrows ( like pick them up and use them till they all dissapear). Now this should get you to around 35.

 

 

 

P2p:

 

 

 

once you get members, do multicannon quest, and raise enough money to get one. Once you do this, go to the guards and train on them for 2 rounds of cannons ( after around 1.5k shots i breaks, its ok u get another for free ) this hsould get you to 50. Now its time to pk

 

 

 

 

 

PKING:

 

 

 

F2P: if youre a member, you can use everthing up to maples ( i believe :x ) in f2p. you u are a pure with no defence, u should have around 25-30 combat (not sure) and you can hit up to 9, so you should also have around 30 hp, so when you go out there, its easy to kill.

 

 

 

P2p: watch out for those ancient mages! You are good against mages, but they can hit sooo high it isnt even funny. I suggest nowhere past 30 wildy.

this is also one of the pures that needs a a trade skill. To see the trade skills, look above.

 

 

 

you should get from 1-10k for every runes. ok im not use to this type of pure, but here.

 

 

 

Begginning

 

 

 

well once you get those runes its time to fight. go to the wizards tower and start training. Air strikes all the way till lvl 13 then fire strikes till like lvl 19

 

 

 

To Varrok!!!!

 

 

 

Lvl 19 big and bad :) jk. Well you go to varrok castle. you see the zamorak monk right???. well cast alot (AND I MEAN ALOT!) of Curse. do this till lvl 35

 

 

 

Training By yourself

 

 

 

after lvl 35, you should go to the best training place find and just cast fire strike. Do this till lvl 59. After this, start getting more runes, youll need them. you will need deaths, fires, and airs. thats right, fire blast. Cast tons of that till your desired level.

 

 

 

Pking

 

 

 

F2p well this is horrible because all you can do is fire blast. make sure u use a staff or wizzard's robe (normal or (g))

 

 

 

P2p Acients! get them and you should get to lvl 94 for the best use ok pking time. Ice barrage hits the highest of 30 with a binding bonus of 20 seconds.

Misc Tips

 

 

 

1. Bring tons of food this way you can last longer. Usually you want to have lobbies, swordies, or shark.

 

 

 

2. If your a member, bring prayer pots! They are the most important item you need. This will make ur prayer last longer

 

 

 

3. Watch out for the multi combat areas, they are more vunrable for clan or pking attacks.

 

 

 

4. Bring good equipment, but make sure you have extra's. Just because you have good equipment, doesnt mean you will win.
