Thanks To JimmyD for Thread Lol <-- Jimmy's Thread

Well, It all started with JimmyD's thread, it got me excited about Barrows! So like him i have decided to do a lot of Barrows Runs to get a PartyHat.

The Story... and Math!

I've decided to go and barrow LOTS. I'm getting very close to 87 Magic and am 1631 total. I am going to try and acheive a partyhat from barrows drops and runes. Jimmy figures that the amount I'll need to re-enter the partyhat market will require about 160m by the time I catch up to them. From his past experiences I'll need to make about 1,100 to 1,300 trips to achieve this. He figures that amount because 1:13 (average) chance of getting an item would mean about 100 items at an average of ~1.2m each would equal 120m from items, but 400-500k profit from runes/bolts every 5 runs adds on another 100m. Minus the amount of money used on guthan recharges, prayer pots and the possible shrink from deaths would net me about 175m profit. I'll be expecting somewhere in the regions of 40k minds, 128k chaos, 10k deaths, 33k bloods, 49k bolt racks, and 1.4m cash only from the chest. Sounds outrageous, but it's true. Doing maybe 5-10 runs a night on school nights, 10-20 on weekend nights would be about 3-4 months, but I seem to add a lot of extra runs in there so I figure I could slice it down to 3 months, 175m... Partyhat! Now, to levels. I average 3,000 magic experience per run which equates to 3.6M magic experience. Combined with the 4m experience I'll have from getting 87 magic I'll surpass level 92-93. Melee fighting experience I'll try to focus on defensive styles. This said, chalk up another 5m experience for defense based on 16-30 monsters of 45 hitpoints each. This will get me to a fair 94 defence as well as getting to 92-93 hitpoints. Lets say I advance to 70 prayer I'll finish with a combat level of 110.

The Progress

Step 1: 99 Cooking (Time: 1-2 Weeks, Includes Barrows)

Step 2: Solid Barrows: 3 months of Straight Barrowing (Time: 3 Months)

Step 3: Achieve Partyhat

Step 4: Barrow For One Straight Week With JimmyD and host a drop party with the results of that week!.

Step Miscellaneous: I may decide, at random intervals, to go level a prayer level or two, up my range a couple notches or alch in Edge so you can find me releasing Step Miscellaneous quite often, Just like Jimmy.

How I Fight

I go from Dharok -> Verac -> Ahrim -> Torag -> Guthan -> Karil. I usually pray on Verac (not all of his hits are spec'd...), Dharok, Karil and Arhim. I use 5-6 prayer doses per run including the initial 2 doses to start me off, not half bad. I have the safety sharks in case Verac really goes to town on me or if my Guthans is lagging up. I love staying there for long periods of time so I despise having to tele to my house after each run so I could safe a few cents when I could save some time and make more money. I slayer dart them all but Karil who i "whip" and Arhim, who I destroy with range.
