Suggestions on stats plz Also training at monks currently

Get your range/mage as high as you can without raising your combat level. A higher level in those stats gives you better defense against those kinds of attacks, and the extra hp xp is good. If you want to get high strength (70+), get attack to 40 for a rune scimmy.

should i keep at monks?

From 20-40 attack I'd stay at monks, once you got 40 attack start training str on level 12 minotaurs in stronghold, you will get a great deal of iron arrows from then that can be used for range later, or sold for money. But the minotaurs hit you a little bit so you need food, trout and salmon do fine. You can get form 40-60 str on 1k trout with the minotaurs and 1k trout only costs 50k.

Untill your max hit is higher then the monks hp, I would say yes. They are 1 defense or so, have 15 hp, heal themselves, and are level 5. A low level pure's dream :D
