Prologue:

Rain pattered on his face, with his hand he wiped off the blood sweat and rain of his forehead, his Golden helmet pushing on his head. He looked up into the forbidding cave. He could hear the sound of a metallic clang as if something was crashing along the cave. He then heard a loud rumble, and two red eyes flashed in the depths of the cave. He picked up his gold encrusted abby whip and raised it above his head. As he began to swing it he shouted into the cave.

" I am the Golden Emperor, ruler of the lands of the desert, servant to Zaros, and I command you to retreat from my lands and return to the depths of the earth" The Emperor began to swing his whip above his head, the creature in the cave began to roar and charged out of the cave. It was a Golden dragon,as it stood on it's hind legs the Emperor could not see the retreating sun. As the Dragon landed on to the floor, the Emperor stumbled and his whip hit him across the back. He fell to the floor in agony, he knew the creature was smiling. Determined to succeed in his quest to slay the beast, the Emperor was shocked to see the creature run back into it's lair and decided to give chase. With a defient roar, The Emperor charged into the cave and into the darkness.

The golden throne of Kharadia had been left empty for 50 years, since the day Emperor Zaere was lost in his quest to destroy the Golden Dragon. The empire was now ruled by new Emperors who had abandoned the teachings of The Golden Emperors of Khardia and had taken up the throne of Black stone. These new Dark Emperors did not reign for long for as soon as one took the throne they where either murdered by there closest Rivals or had died in battle after trying to expand their empire. But that had changed since the last Emperor took to the throne. People said he could not be killed and that he was in fact a God, or he was possesd by the dark gods to rule over a great Empire, he was a giant of a man and only his secret bodyguards where allowed to see him. He was in fact Verxeas. And in two years he would rule an empire from the deserts of Memphis to the borders of Varrock. By orders of his master, Zamorak, he was told to expand it till the sun never set in his lands.

Chapter 1: Family Tradition

His Father was the greatest swordsman in the whole of Misthilin, his Grandfather, was master of the greataxe( he had heard stories of how he had killed a great giant with the axe from 100 foot away). It was the tradition of his family to be great warriors, to protect the King and the lands of Misthilin. In fact the King would call upon them in hours of need. However he did not have the same skills as he forefathers, he could not lift a bronze axe and any armour he wore brought him to his knees. No in fact Cas was much at home with the Cows, the Chickens and the sheep. When ever his Father took his Brother to the wilderness to toughen him up, Cas would go to the Monastery. He preferred it there, the Monks taught him how to read and write, how to paint and how you can better understand the World and the things living on it.

" Father Derek taught me how to paint an object with my eyes closed, he said I painted it through the helpings of Saradomin" He said one day when his Family were setting down for tea.

"I bet I could use those skills to kill my enemies with my eyes closed!" His Brother Chuckled and returned to eating. Cas' father also joining in the chuckling.

"Oh Son you don't need to know how to paint things you need to know to become a great warrior, like your brother" He sat up and walked to a cupboard, as soon as he had opened it he had shut it and in his hand was an amulet in the shape of a great warrior about to unleash a fatal blow on a giant snake..

" ah yes My most prised possession, given to me by the Golden Emperor the day he vanished, some say it was because I took it that he vanished that day, Some say I should be killed then he would return. They are all liars and I think that he would prefer me to have it" Cas' Father sat back down looking at the Amulet. Cas knew this was very precious to his Father. As not only was it given to Him by the Emperor but had saved him from an arrow shower ( It created a forcefield that protected him).

The sun began to rise on the gates of Eastern Varrock, as it rose a figure cloaked in Black pounded on the gates, it spoke in a harsh coarse voice.

" By orders of the Emperor of the Black stone you will open the gates our if you don't the Emperor shall unleash his wrath upon Varrock and burn it to the ground!" The gates opened and the figure glided through the streets of Varrock, as it did trees and plants withered and died. The figure stopped at the gates of the Palace and waited until the King walked towards him.

"Why does the Emperor want to speak with me?" as the King said it, the creature threw down a head, the King automatically knew who's it was.

"My son. The Emperor will pay for this, he had no right to kill him! speak! I want to know what happened to him?" The figure chuckled " He walked to close to the shanty pass, one foot step thats all he took and bam we killed him and now by orders of the Emperor I have come to kill you!" The figure ripped off his cloak and stood to his true height. He was covered in black leather and a black mask that covered his eyes. The only part the King could see was his mouth, the stench from the creature brought bile to his throat. As the creature pulled out a black sword, 5 of the Kings guards surronded the creature.

" Go now to your Emperor and tell him he may not mock me, and if he decides to attack my land or the state of Al Kharad. The Army of Varrock will defend it"

" The army of the Empire has already set off to attack Al Kaharad, and I was sent here to kill you"

"So be it!"

The Dark Assassin laughed " Fools, do you not know my power, the power of the Emperor's secret guard I will spare you the fate so you can watch the terror!"

The Assassin rose his hands up into the sky and a blinding light filled the whole of the courtyard. The King shielded his eyes from the light but the heat was still unbearable, it drove him to his knees. When the light faded. The King looked up to see all his guards turned into ashes. He tried to shout out but noting came, he was to weak to even move. The Assassin drew out it's blade and walked up to the fallen king.

" Now you will die!" as soon as the assassin lifted his blade above the kings head, he vanished in a puff of smoke.

" Your Father never used to neglect the simpler things of life!" Brother eric said to Cas as the walked through the monastery garden.

" His father taught him how to keep balance in all aspects."

" well he seems to have forgotten it, all he cares about is my brother danis, training him up to become a great warrior, as if anybody wants to become a warrior these days, not since......"

" Yes we all know what you mean, for the last 10 years every warrior, great mage or archer have all gone south across the sea to the island of the unholy sun. yes we have heard all the stories of how people go there and just die on the spot, and the creatures that are supposed to live there the horrors of that place have mad the richest in gelienor pay thousands for anything decent there."

" but some of the people who went, i mean they didn't need the cash." Cas said as he looked down to see how much a flower had grown " Any way i don't think my father would want him to go there not after the The Six brothers went, loads of people stormed port sarim when they went, we were all sure they'd return, but it's been 2 years and they haven't returned,"

Cas looked to the sunset, he'd better get back to there house, it was getting late and his father and brother would be getting back.

As he got to the house he saw that his father was there but not his brother. He has gone to the island he thought to himself they both were glory hunters.

His Father spoke " Your Brother has been enlisted in the Varrock army they were needing soldiers urgently so he has made me proud and will come back victorious in battle, so it's just you and me and I'm hungry."

Cas was puzzled, why had his brother been enlisted in the varrock army, his father was training him to be a great warrior not a soldier, and why did Varrock need an army urgently

That Night Cas had dream he could not forget, He was about to go to the Monastery when he felt a cold chill fall down his spine, he could feel that there was an evil presence behind him, but as soon as he turned whatever was there had vanished. As he turned to look at the Monastery he almost stumbled in shock it was a blaze. He could hear to screams of terror from the Monks , he also heard crashing of soldiers marching from all directions. As he turned he found out that the Monastery was not the only thing Burning, over the river he could see a huge flame and people screaming in terror, the city of Varrock was burning as well. He tried to wake himself up, but he couldn't not matter how hard he tried he couldn't

From across the skies he heard a voice he did not recognize, but he knew it was full of hate, it was speaking in a language that Cas could not understand. But after a while it began to speak in the common tongue.

" There is no life once the Emperor reaches out, and there are none who shall stop him" The voice got louder as Cas saw a huge Black dragon fill the sky and on it, a black hooded figure, Cas tried to stare at the figures eyes but as soon as he made contact it burned his. As he looked again the Black Dragon was flying straight towards him, ready to kill.

*************************************************************

"Cas I have a little job for you!" His father said to Cas as they sat Down for Breakfast, " Today is going to be your brothers last day here with us before he goes off to Varrock to join the army, I want it to be a splended day for him, as you may know there is Bard coming from East Ardougne, I would like you to go and bring him to Edgeville , he should be somewhere near the monastery recovering from his hardened journey, he has been walking over mountains you know taller than than ice mountain."

Cas began to speak but was interrupted by a load knocking on his door, his Father gave him a look and Cas knew what that meant. He causticly got up and opened the front door.

" Something to tell you, somebody's coming from the west!" The voice panted, It was Thyme, She was the same age as Cas and had been Friends since Birth, But times had changed and now was the first time they had meet since her parents decided to go back to where they where born.

Her Parents lived in a small town called Frisan It was a little North of Edgeveille, and was Called the Thorn of Saradomin, for it was a fortress City in The Wilderness, It was a haven for any weary traveler caught in that god forsaken land. But Money had been growing Thin, and the town could not repair it's defenses, As the townsfolk knew they where doomed, they called upon the mage of the town to create a safe passage so they could leave the wilderness. But he tricked them he made the villagers easier to find, with lowly peasants to rich nobles all walking together a frenzy of attacks on the party began, all where slaughtered apart from Thyme's parents but they suffered brain damage over the years until they forgot that there town did not exist and so decided to move back.

" Thyme, gosh, your back when did you come back, how was things living in the Wilderness?"

" No time,No TIME!" Thyme shouted " Urgent there is somebody and a Bard outside our bank but more this person is not like any I have seen for once, his Armour It's Shining Red like it has been Stained with Blood, he hasn't said where he has come from?" Cas's Father leaped out of his Chair

" Tell me Girl, Did you Get His Name?"

" he calls himself The Dragon."

CHAPTER 2: Stranger from the West

Cas followed his Father to the bank, this was shocking news, for the only warriors which came to edgeville where usually steel wearing scoundrels or rune warriors, never had somebody like this come here before. Cas' Father turned round to stare at Cas

"Son, stay here while I go speak to the Mayor, under no circumstances are you allowed to go near this new Arrival, Understand?" Cas nodded reluctantly, how could his Father not allow him to speak to this new stranger.

"Your Fathers right, I may try to kill you!" A voice chuckled behind Cas, Cas turned to see the fabled warrior, and looked in awe at his armour, The warrior was dressed in a full helm that resembled a Dragons head, Cas shuddered at the thought, his body was a solid plate with white [bleep]es pointing from the shoulder blades, his legs where covered in segments of the red material and so were his feet. In one hand he had a red Kite Shield with a Dragon Symbol on it and in the Other, a Red whip.

" What brings you to Edgeville, we don't get many rich warriors here, not unless they are merchants."

The Dragon Laughed, " I'm not a Rich warrior, yes my armour may look grand, but no, I will tell you the story later right know, I'm staying here for my own reasons, a couple of my mates are in Varrock buying supplies as we have run out, they may come here." As the Dragon finished speaking Cas' father walked in there conversation and gave Cas a look, Cas obliged and walked sulkily to his house, why did his Father mistrust the new arrival.

Zaere sat reading the scrolls his adviser had pushed under his noses, another tax man had been slain by a local Village, it was 5th one this week, but money was scarce at this time. Zaere walked into his Garden and stood at the most beautiful flower, it was extremely delicate the slightest touch and it wood break, as he went to smell, he wondered how he would keep his Empire intact, he had faced threats before, 10 years ago a group of Zamorak followers had tried to establish the empire of black stone, the two Kharadian Empires had nearly completely destroyed each other, until Zaere called upon the high priests of Zaros, to summon Azzandra to destroy the Dark Empire. But this was a tougher Challenge, The Empire Had to Convert To Saradomism to stop Misthilin declare war, But Zaere still worshiped Zaros in secret, and this threat was from inside the Empire it's self.

As he looked to the West he saw the answer, A cave were the Golden Dragon lived, he knew it would be wrong to slay the Protector of The Throne but he had no choice.

That night, the whole of Edgeville was in a party mood, the bard was telling stories of warriors of old, and even played a few songs, to keep the villagers dancing, Cas could see people congratulating his brother for joining the Varrockian army. This was the first time, Cas had seen him in his armour, and compared to the armour of the Dragon, it was nothing. As Cas looked at it, he found that it was mainly made of leather, it seemed Varrock didn't care for it's soldiers safety.

"Look at him, I knew he would be called up," Cas' Father said as he sat beside him, he was dressed in his most lavish clothes,(which he only wore for special occasions)

" He isn't protected much, that armour is mainly Leather?" But his Father didn't listen and just walked off to speak to Cas Brother, Just then he heard a voice whisper.

"Cas, come here quick look what I found!" Cas walked to to the voice, and found Thyme staring over a ledge, " Look over there" As she said this she pointed over to what looked like a camp, Cas could see a raging fire and a figure standing over it, what puzzled him was who was it, it was most definately not the Dragon, But a new person Covered in turquoise and purple armour.

As Cas continued to stare the man looked up and stared back Cas knew that the man was staring at him, he could he a faint sound of the man talking to another person, and he knew who, It Was the Dragon. Cas run as fast as he could as he did not want to bee seen talking with them. As he got back to Edgeville, he wondered who they were and why were they here?

Chapter 3: The North Wind Blows

The Farewell Party went long into the night, and only stopped, as the sun rose from the east, all through the following day, Cas couldn't stop thinking about the people in the camp, he knew one person was the Dragon, but he could not keep his mind off the second person, he had an aura that made Cas feel that he knew nothing or what he had been taught was pointless.

With a sudden crash Cas dropped the pile of plates onto the floor, he was expecting his father to come charging but he heard no noise, this was odd as his father relished for any opportunity to scowl him. As his father was not paying much attention Cas decided to go back to see the encampment, and to see if the inhabitants were still present. As Cas began to walk west, he could feel a cold breath on his back exactly the same as in his dream, Cas turned to see Varrock burning but it was not. As he spun around he walked straight into an old oak tree the huge low bearing branch and whacked his forehead, if anybody else had been hit by this would get a headache for about half an hour then be fine, this being Cas knocked him out cold.

The King of Varrock, looked over the balcony his most trusted General looked over his shoulder, the two of them peered and saw the most unlikely army he had ever seen, with only 1/4 of them actually being proper soldiers, the rest were either too young or too old, none of them were equipped too well, most full of just wooden shields and bronze swords,

"Is this all thats left in Misthilin, Peasants to fight for me, against the Emperors forces they won't last two seconds." The King explained to the General

" We Don't need a good army, we have the greatest warrior's son, he has been trained to perfection, if the Emperor's army now know if he is hear they will not fight as well as they should.

The King stared as the Army moved to the Desert being a great warriors son, didn't make this person a good fighter

Cas woke up, to the sound of a hot blazing fire, he could feel the heat on his forehead but he did not mind, the heat was pleasant and took the pain away from his soaring head. He wanted to lay there forever, but he knew he couldn't. As he slowly dragged himself up he found himself in an unfamiliar place. He was in a tent, with the walls showing an epic story much like the ones the Bards told.

" You awake?" Said a voice from behind Cas, Cas turned around to see the turquoise Hooded man, from afar his clothes looked like hard metal, but up close they were soft as silk.

" Yes, I err, what does the story on the wall mean?" The Hooded man, shouted out something in a language that Cas couldn't understand but knew he had heard before. as soon as the man had finished, the Dragon burst through the door, both men began speaking in this strange language, until they both turned to Cas

" Yes i suppose It is time we told you why we are here, Partially?

All three people sat by the fire, and the hooded man began,

" The world is split into 8 parts, 8 places of the world for which either light or darkness can rule but never both, this is the law of Guthix, in which all forces must abode, 4 for light, 4 for darkness, when this contract was first written in the first age, the world was split into, Isfadar, Kharadia, Asgarnia & Misthilian, and the lands of Fremmniks, were owned by the Light, Morytania, the blasted lands, Kramja and the lands of Ardougne, by the dark,

But the forces of Dark were not happy as they classed Asgarnia & Misthilian as two parts and there for, made it there right to take Misthilian"

" What happened?" Cas asked as the hooded man got up and looked at the painting.

" The two forces met at this very spot, know this, the Dreadlords and Hopebringers of which you here in legends are real, there can only be one in any one settlement and the other has to be killed in order for another to take it's place, We are Hope bringers, I am the Hopebringer of the Fremmnik lands and he is the Hopebringer of Ardougne

Anyway, The forces of the two greatest Hopebringers and Dreadlords met at Edgeville."

The hooded man walked out to Cas here let me show you!

The hooded figure pulled out his staff, and began his incantation, Cas could feel himself being ripped apart, he felt sick, as he landed he knew he was at the exact same spot. But with one difference there was no town, only an open field, he could not even see the monastery, for even that had not been built.

Cas looked up ahead, to see two figures standing side by side, they were talking, but Cas needed to get closer to understand them, as he walked the sense of fear was rising in his body, what if they killed him?

"Move your armies, back to the foul lands, by trying to take Misthilian, you are breaking the will of Guthix, send your foul creatures back or see them destroyed!" ordered the man closest to Cas

"Fool, we do not care for the will of Guthix, there is no reason for light, we will make Misthilian part of the foul lands, and then continue sweeping through the lands to all are waste" Cas looked at this person, he was as tall as his father, and his face was covered in a black veil, only his eyes were visible, and Cas could not bear to look in them

suddenly a hand touched Cas and he was sent back through the feeling he had earlier on, but he was not back to his time, but after the battle.

Cas could see the aftermath of the battle, and the same to men were the only ones left.

"when one shall be reborn, so shall the other, new bodies shall be taken, and when we have learned are destiny, so shall our armies rise again!" both generals spoke as two skeletal hands dragged them into the ground.

"Cas found himself back in the camp, " So there was a mighty battle here at Edgeville, but I've never heard of it?"

" Thats because it is a battle of protectors, not kings and Warlords, the reason we showed this is because of the balance of power has shifted in the sake of dark, Morytania and Kharadia are both controlled by the Dreadlords, yes the Emperor that the King of Varrock is fighting, is a Dreadlord, so his army will be no match, the hopebringers have managed to liberate a foot hold on Morytania, but it is only time before the Dreadlord of Morytania, rises from his sleep, then it will fall, as for Isfadar, who can say, they have locked the gates due, to there own reasons, I hope that the elven Hopebringer has not been slain, as it it will mean that we are the only ones left"

Cas began to speak, but was stopped by a piercing scream

" All is lost, the army of the Emperor, has ripped through Varrock, and is heading this way.

Cas could not believe his ears, what he had dreamed had come true, the city of Varrock was going to fall, he was sure now the black dragon and the hooded figure would come soon, to swallow him whole.

"Eres, pack the camp, quickly, quickly, I want us to leave in 4 minutes!" The Dragon shouted frantically as he got the the turquoise hooded man to stop gazing to the east, "Cas, it would be best if you came with us, I have a feeling, but I don't know what, all I know is that going to see your father would be bad mistake."

Cas wanted to disagree but he knew that what ever he said would not be taken in by the Dragon, he just nodded. Eres came back from packing the camp, "how they both carried that lot I'll ne......" Cas was interrupted as he saw the packages crunch up into a ball and land in Eres' hand, Impressive he thought to himself, but no more than some cheap tricks

"Everything ready, then lets go!" and in a flash the Dragon and Eres were running west, with Cas trailing behind, "Dam they can run fast" he thought to himself. After they had been running for 5 minutes, Cas wondered if either of them knew where they were going. It took Cas another 5minutes to find where exactly they were going, at first it was a light in the horizon but then it became visible, a shining white beacon, edging weary travelers to come into the light.

Chapter 4: Dark creatures in the city of light.

Silence, nothing but silence, the only sound was the sharp thudding on the ground as a mighty Black Dragon walked on the deserted streets of Varrock.

Blood dripped from every window and doorway, it stained the once vibrant streets, a hand enclosed in a black leather scraped against the walls of a house, inside he could hear the screams, as the secret guard butchered all in the city. He turned to see the once grand palace now being dismantled, to be used in the Imperial city, this will show the Emperor's might.

As he rode on his Black Dragon up the Courtyard, he could see the royal family of Varrock cowering in a corner, he rode slowly until they could feel the Dragon's hot breath on their faces

"Fools, did you think you could win, do I am disappointed I expected a better fight, then at least maybe some of our army may have been slain!" Just then the prince rushed up brandishing a gold dagger, in a split rage he charged at the figure on the dragon, but the figure knew he was there, in a flash a red bolt from the slits in his mask engulfed the prince. There he stood between the hooded figure and the royal family.

"Feeding time!" As soon as the figure said it the dragon lurched forward and decapitated the prince, the royal family watched in horror as his lifeless body was swallowed whole by the great black dragon.

"Now ANYBODY ELSE WANT TO TRY IT!!!!!!!" the hooded figure shouted.

"Kill us if you must, but you will die by sunset tomorrow, for the Army of Falador has heard of what has happened they will not be defeated. The hooded figure laughed "Do you think we fear those pathetic white knights, all talk, but no bite, don't think that they are so pure, we have spies in their ranks who are waiting always waiting, and something far, far worse.

Cas walked, with the two hopebringers, he could see people refusing to make eye contact with the two men, it seemed if they feared them, maybe they did, maybe they were why the gates had been closed. Cas got excited as they came up to the white palace, home of the infamous White Knights, but instead of walking across the bridge they, walked underneath, and there was some sort of gateway, a secret passage that gave the feeling that you would not want venture inside. Eres and The Dragon, both knelt down to the passage

"How long will it take before it is opened?" The Dragon asked but Eres did not answer straight away instead he placed his hands just above the entrance

"It's hard to say, I did kind of seal it up good, won't be as long as the other gateway in Ardougne, that one was done by elven magic, as this is my own doing, I think, maybe if I work non stop by 12:30 tonight"

"so we have 7 hours in this city, with the Emperor's army marching as we speak, can't you work any faster?"

"Maybe if you had studied the way of light, like all Hopebringers, I could maybe get it done in 3 hours but you have refused, saying that it leaves a whole in your spirit, 12:30 no earlier!"

Cas could feel the hatred of the Dragon, Eres had defiantly upset him. but this was not his problem.

"So if I have to wait 7 hours can't I go and explore, I've always wanted to see the white city?"

"If you must but stay where there are guards or white knights, and don't go on the eastern wall, who knows what has happened to Edgeville"

Cas sat on a bench in the park, with all the carnage that had been happening just a stones throw away, life in the park seemed peaceful, he wanted to stay here forever, but hunger told him he had to move, he hadn't eaten in a day and the smells and laughter coming from the inn was too overpowering. Slowly he checked his pockets, he had enough for one drink and a little food, but not much else. His heart told him to wait until later, who knew if maybe there was a hot meal with the two hopebringers, but his stomach told him to go into the inn.

As he walked in he could here laughter as walked into the inn. All he could see was white knights nothing but white knights, it seemed they were having one last party, before he did not want to think about it, as he pushed past the Knights he came to the old Bartender, at first Cas looked away as he thought it was his father.

"what you want, cant you see I have better guests to attended with, now get out or I'll..."

"He's with me," said a long knight in the corner, the bartender jeered and pushed Cas into the direction.

"ER thanks I erm wanted to eat something hot so when I saw this I thought?" But the Knight did not answer instead, beckoned Cas to follow him, outside past the Bridge, past the Park into an abandoned house.

"what are we doing here,"

"I know what you are, Cas, I know everything, and I tell you this, You will die, the secret guard already know you are here, they know of two brothers one would bring fear to the emperor, it's a shame the other one was no match."

Cas tried to unlock the door but there was no use, as the white knight drew his sword and raised it above his head,

"Darkness shall prevail"

Cas franticly tried to get the door to open, but it would not budge, closer and closer the Knight came, taking his time, like he was savouring the moment.

"So this how I'm going to die in an abandoned hut!" Cas thought himself as kept on trying to burst the door open. As the Knight came closer, Cas noticed a bronze dagger in the corner of the room, if he could get to it, maybe?

The Knight lunged at Cas, and like never before Cas ran to the side, loosing balance the Knight fell crashing to the floor, Cas picked up the Dagger and stasbbed the knight in the back, as the knight fell back on to the floor Cas noticed a key fallen from the Knights pocket. Quickly Cas unlocked the door, and ran as fast as he could, he didn't care if he was being followed he only wanted to get back to the Dragon and Eres, back safety.

Thump. Cas felt a fist punch his face, he fell down in agony, as he turned to see his attacker he saw three white knights standing behind him, the one he had just stabbed trailing behind.

"There he is, the little freak, kill him!" The three knights all charged ready to kill Cas, this time there was no blade.

Suddenly a flash of light burst from nowhere and sent one of the knights flying up into the sky and flung him out of the city. The other two looked in shock, but in a flash both were wailing in pain on the floor.

"Hurry, quick to the portal,"

Cas obliged. quickly he ran to the bridge into the portal

"NO, I will not see you go through with your actions, the Senate will not!" shouted the the leader of the Senate, across the senate to the Golden Emperor

"But, it's the only way to keep our nation going, I'm sure the god's will understand" The Emperor could see that the Senate would not allow him to go through with his actions,

"you would think it is wise to attack and slay the guardian, but I tell you this, there have been many, who have tried, and all were stopped by what it does, why, without it the Emperor's of Black stone would of won the great war 150 years ago. The Dragon is our protector"

The Emperor stormed out of the room, he didn't care what they thought, and he had a plan.

*************************************************************

With a sudden leap, Cas felt himself, fall, he felt he would be falling forever, so he was relieved to find the floor. he expected to find himself in another portal, not where he was. It looked like Falador, but all the buildings were rubble, in the middle was a single gigantic statue, exactly were the Castle should of been.

"Aerafala, or Old Falador as it is more commonly known." Cas looked behind him to see Eres behind him, followed by The Dragon.

"I err thought that the portal would take us to the destination?"

"And it will, it's just that we have to find it, it's in here somewhere, do it does like to move about."

Cas walked slowly behind the two, hopebringers he did not want to get lost, especially here, not after what had happened. Like a sudden gush of wind, Cas could feel his blood run cold, he was sure they were being followed but by what. As he walked he tried to imagine what was happening above him, if Falador was in flames or if nothing was happening, it took the Dark emperor 5 years after storming the tiny outpost in Kharadia before attacking Varrock.

There was that feeling again, but it was more direct.

"I think were being followed?"

"nonsense there's nothing down here, you forget we were here only 4 days ago" the dragon said over his shoulder. But Cas knew that there was something out there,

"We'll rest here for the night." The Dragon said pointing to what looked like the remains of a rotten tree "Quickly Eres, set that camp up." The hooded obliged and in a flash the camp was set up. Cas sat on the floor nervously watching, he didn't feel safe here, he wanted to find the portal as soon as possible, if in fact it was the portal, not another gateway to and older version of Falador.

As Cas stared off into the distance he noticed something, it was a helmet much like that of what the Dragon wore, but this one, this one was pure white, temptation pulled him to take it, he may not of been to wear it, but he could keep it, for safe keeps. Cas slowly outstretched his hand touch it it, he could feel the coldness on it's hand, the texture

"NOOOO!" Shouted Eres but it was two late, Cas could feel his life being drained from him, Eres tried to pull the helmet off Cas but it would not budge. He stopped and tried using magic, with mighty blast Cas was sent flying across with the Helmet, flying as well past some houses and on a dark alley.

Eres looked back at Cas, alive just, feeling relieved, Eres walked back, but was stopped in his tracks, by a large deep bellowing growl. He stopped dead and the Dragon, rose brandishing his weapon, both men looked into the darkness, the growling became more frequent.

"I thought they were all killed, I mean thats was one of the old hopebringers top goals, light protect us if this is really one of them"

Both Hopebringers waited, they had never been so scared. Slowly the creature came into to view, but it was not made of solid matter, it was a shadow, an ancient creature before the dawn of time, it had come from the destruction of the old world, a creature of shadow.

Chapter 5: The Fall Of The Dragon

"Cas, run as far south as you can, don't look back, not even for a second, what ever you here keep running, we'll catch up with you" Cas ran like he had never ran before, he could feel the pain from the Helmet still stinging but he tried to ignore it, to him only one thing was important, to get to safety.

As he Ran he heard an almighty roar of the Demon, as the the hopebringers clashed with it, Cas could hear the clashes of bodies crashing on to stone, he could only Imagine what was happening, in his mind he had a vision of the two men's dead lifeless bodies being tossed aside by the creature and him being alone in this ruined city alone with the creature.

A hand touched his shoulder, Cas turned in fright, to see Eres, he was panting, his robes were torn and Cas could tell he had been crying. In his hands was The Dragon's Armour, blood stained. Cas under stood what had happened.

"How?" Was all that Cas could come up with, but he had no answer Eres just looked up holding the Armour, in a flash the Armour was packed away in to a small package, which Eres attached to his belt. Turning back to Cas he pointed at where the the south entrance of Falador was situated, in it's place was a portal, Eres walked through so Cas followed
