Wireless adapter/router question

Featured Replies

Alright, quick question here for you guys.

I'm looking to buy a wireless adapter for my 360. Right now I connect it through my PC but it often disconects in games. I checked and my PC's wireless adapter isn't supported for the 360.

Currently I use linksys for my adapter and router. Is it possible if I, say, got a recomended net gear adapter for my 360 and used it with my current network. Would it connect to the linksys's signal?

I think so but I figured it would be best to ask first.

The second question is what are some decent wi-fi adapters (compatable) for the 360 that aren't terribly expensive? I don't want to really have to pay more than $40-50 for it (deffinitly not $90 for the 360 brand name one) and was wondering what my best bet was.

Also would a change in adapter help me stay stable?

The netgear wireless adapter will have no problem conecting as long as the are on the same band. 802.11 a/b/g. You can cheack but unless your router is quite old, I would expect it does at least 802.11g, at least thats the standard around here. "b" is slower, I dont know much about "a". So just make sure the new adapter and rounter can operate on the same band.

Now I'm wondering if it is the router or the adapter that is the cause of my disconections on my 360... :)
