Hello. I'm new to the Varrock Library and I wanted to start off by putting down my story that I have been working on the past few months :D I hope you all enjoy it.

The raid on the Royal Navy came quickly that night. The carefully planned attack was executed perfectly, if not, better.

The small boat filled with the Elendi force came up silently on the Royal Warships. If they where detected at all, they would be obliterated in seconds. But this mission would be simple compared to some other extreme missions they have accomplished before.

Jairyn, the Captain of the warship, Natar, was busy working over plans for the next attack against the Elendi.

The race known as the Elendi have been battling the Royal Guard of Rinalent for years. The Elendi where a nation built for war, their tactics and strength stood unopposed for many years. Until one day, they attacked with full force, ever since then the Rinalent Empire have been on full alert. The guards have been holding them off fairly well, but their force was deteriorating. In a year, or maybe even less, the Empire would fall.

Jairyn knew about this and hoped that he would never see that day. He look across the Cabin at the old mirror at the other side. He changed a lot since the war begun. Four years ago, when he was assigned to the Natar as her Captain, he was young and sharp looking. Now the war had made him tired and it started to catch up. His green eyes had rings of tiredness around them. His once brown, well-kept hair had that unbrushed look for the past few months. He was a mess.

He gave up trying to think of tactics and battle movements. He rolled up the maps that littered his desk, and sulked to his quarters. When he entered the room he fell on the bed, asleep instantly.

  • 3 weeks later...

It was still night the alarm went off. Jairyn, dazed from his few hours of sleep, didn't pay too much attention. He got out of his bed and strapped on his long sword.

"Who ever did this will be sent to the brig for a month!" He said to himself.

He trudged to the door and stepped onto the deck only to find dead bodies littered the deck. Jai cautiously slid his sword out of his sheath. Just then a glint of red caught his eye. He turned to find that the other warships that composed of the rest of the entire navy, was in flames.

Just then he saw something. It wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t much but it stood out of the night sky. A quick flash of red light. Jairyn studied it for a second, and then realized that that was an eye from an Elendi warrior. It jumped from its concealed spot and ran towards Jairyn like a madman. He had little time side step the monster's axe. Before the Elendi could recover from his first blow, Jairyn spun around and made a precision slash at the warrior's stomach. The warrior howled in pain and toppled over. He looked over his accomplishment. It wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t the most beautiful sight to see. His torso was connected to his legs with only a small slab of scaly green skin. The rest was sliced in two.

He grinned at the ease of taking one of these guys down. As he turned to go back to his quarters to think about what to do, another Elendi slipped behind him and hit the back of his head with the back of his axe. Jairyn fell instantly into a deep unconsciousness.

Allena was walking along the beach on a fine summer morning. She was fairly young, being only 18 winters old, but she held a high position in her village. The healer had taken her as her learner. She soon would begin the training of a healer. It's rare when the old healer took on a new learner.

But this was also a reason to escape, if only for a brief moment. For the past few days everyone was celebrating the news. She was tired and wanted a few moments to think things over. She brushed back her black hair, hoping it will open a new option to her problems. Did she want to be a healer? Was this the best thing she could do? But before she could really answer her own questions, a new one was found.

On the shore laid a stranger. He was wearing a fine outfit for one to be in the sand like that. She cautiously walked over to him to find out more. He seemed to be dead, or knocked out, whatever it was he didn't look to well. She examined the large lump on top of his head. Nothing accidental could do that much damage. Also upon further looking she noticed a few medals pinned to his overcoat with a badge with an Eagle holding a flaming sword to the sky. She didn't know what that meant, but she thought it would be something important. So she unpinned it and stuck it under her belt. Allena tried shaking him hoping it would wake him, but it didn't seem to affect him. The only thing that seemed to be done was to get him to the healer, but she could barley lift him, yet alone carry him back to the village. But her brother, Bron, could.

She raced as fast as she could back to the village, hoping Bron was awake. When she arrived to the village she ran right past the few market stalls that where open this early to a simple log cabin on the skirts of town. When Allena busted into the house panting, she found Bron starting a fire for breakfast.

"There's...Stranger...Help...." She panted out.

"Calm down." he told her, "Breakfast needen't be interrupted for a stranger."

She forgot about how much her brother loved any and all meals. He could even have breakfast with a war going around him.

"But... it's urgent!" She was still winded from the run.

"Whatever it is, it can wait." He said with a matter of fact tone.

"But he could die!" She said in a last act of desperation.

That seemed to trigger something. He put down the flint and steel and looked at her.

"Ok." He finally gave in, "But your going to make me breakfast when we get back." he said with a smile.

They ran down to the beach to find the man still where he was. Bron quickly ran to him. Then with not much effort, he picked him up.

"Maybe the healer knows what is wrong with him." Allena said.

They quickly made their way to the healers hut. The straw house with an eerie, clay chimney, which always seemed to blow smoke, was the home of the healer. She was very, very old. Older then most of the Parent's parents in the village. Also she was very wise. If anyone would know where he came from, it would be her.

They got to the door and pounded on the door. Footsteps came from inside. They seemed to be scurrying about.

"Just one minute." A shrill voice came from inside.

Then a few seconds later the door swung open to reveal a short woman with knee length silver hair and a wrinkled face. The only thing about her that looked young was her golden eyes.

She looked at the man that Bron was carrying and said, "Bring him in." in a very quiet tone.

Bron walked in first and placed the man onto a vacant bed. Allena looked at the old healer.

"Is he going to live?" she said worriedly

"I don't know." the healer replied. He woke up to the deepest blue eyes he had ever seen. A young woman was sitting watching him, as if he where about to do an amazing stunt of some sort, but he just stared back. He tried asking where he was, but he was too tired to really say anything. So he just lay there looking at her. He noticed she had a small tear run down her cheek. She didn't say why but he knew it wasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t good news. He tried sitting up but a wave of pain flowed through out his head, so he just laid back down. He ran his hands over his head to figure out the source of the pain. He located it above his left ear, a large lump, the size of a fist. The woman looked at him and forced a smile.

"That will go away soon." She assured softly, but a few more tears streaked her face.

She opened he mouth as if to say something else. Then just got up and walked away. An older woman stopped her and whispered some things to her, and then the young lady left the hut. The older woman went and collected a tray with some soup and a cup of green liquid and walked over to him. She was about to start spoon-feeding him when a man walked in. He was big, in a muscular way, with black-cropped hair, and a huge smile on his face.

"Ah." He said with some note of relief, "Finally awake are you?"

The large stranger made his way to the bed, and patted him fairly hard on the shoulder.

"Bron!" the old woman said quickly, "He's beat up enough as is, we don't need you to make it worse.̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Allena was helping Bron clean up after breakfast a few mornings later, when he suddenly asked about the stranger.

"What are we going to do about him? We don't know who he is or where he came from. Now we can't even speak to him." He stated.

Allena knew this, but tried to avoid confronting it. She had worked on a few ways to communicate, like writing messages on paper. He could still read, couldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t he? There was one other possibility, and that was to learn the language of the hand.

"We could use the hand language." She said, "I've seen many people use it to talk silently, or to others who have lost their ability to speak. But, where could we find someone to teach us?"

"We could make our own." Bron started, "But that could take years."

Then the idea hit her, "What about the Libraries of Sundain? Wouldn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t they have a scroll, or book about something like that?"

"They could have." He said scratching his chin, "But it is a bit too far away, a week̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s ride in perfect conditions."

He was right, but she had a way to counter that argument, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅIsn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t Norgan heading that way?̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
