Iron arrows are 20gp ea, Iron knives are 40 gp ea. Would EXP be twice as fast using knives?

It all depends. If you're fighting a low defence monster (demons,giants), knives would be faster, but no as fast as 2x. If fighting high defence monsters like blue dragon, i highly recommend you use arrows

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
