Intro

I can only guess you have been around Runescape long enough to see an odd glass shield. Rich people could travel to the other side of the world to make on of their own. It was said 4 special ores could make this miracle shield. They would come from an odd machine I myself still have no knowledge of.

But where did this machine come from? Who made it? Most important to me, WHY was it created.

To amuse myself, I decided to write a fictional story on it. Since I have no knowledge about the machine or ores, do not be surprised to see many mistakes and errors about this odd machine.

During the stroy, feel free to interrupt me to ask a question. Yet, do not try to ask me what will happen next, for it may not happen at all.

CHAPTER 1

"You sure this is the Elemental Shield?" Boris asked uncertainly as a glass shield take form on the bench. "I'm positive, i''ve done this before," Matthew replied. "why would I take you here?"

The two men were standing in what seemed like a dungeon. The dungeon had one large machine with so many pipes connected to it that it may have made you dizzy. The machine was suppose to mix up the four elemental ores they obtained into a type of shield that could resist magic.

"Hey guys, how's the shield going?" A voice asked.

Boris whipped around to see who had spoken, but Matthew recognized the voice. "Hey IronClaw, are you here to make another shield?"

He replied with some annoyance, "Yes I am, a group of rather overpowering mages blasted me to no end, and I lost my shield to them."

"Go figures, they get lots of treasures easily from us."

Boris had now finally finished his shield, giving it a smooth touch in the middle. The shield on the bench was magnificent, even to Matthew, who had one already. It gave off a reflection of brilliance in the faint light of the lantern above, giving it the appearance of a king's shield, even though it wasn't.

"Have any of you guys thought of who discovered the ores and made a machine for the shield?"

"Easy, I thought the mages did," Boris said. "But i'm not talking about Soras and Moras."

The two mages Boris had mentioned were friends who had tagged along to recieve everlasting life. Although they never got it, the mages were a big help in the quest for the potion of the life.

"Well, since i'm done, can we leave now? This doesn't look good for my amour, really."

CHAP. 2

Sunlight hit everyone's face as everyone left the dungeon. It felt so good to everyone to breath pure air instead of rotten, stale air. Boris took a very deep breath.

"About time you should have been done!"

The voice was nobody else but Moras. Standing beside him, was Soras. Moras looked very annoyed, maybe because Boris took to long to make it.

Matthew looked up and smiled in delight. "Soras, Moras, where have you been?!?"

"Doing some rune shopping and rune crafting. What else is there for a mage to do?"

IronClaw considered it. "He's got a point, you know. All the knights in the wilderness always freak out when they see him."

"Well, we do have a couple of questions, mages," Matthew barged in. "Have any clue about the machine and the ore?"

"Well, i'm one heck of an old fogey, I must admit. Old enough to see te final touches done up to the machines ages ago." Soras said

"Wow! Where did the machine come from? Who made it? What was it for? Why did they have to close it down? Who found the ores?"

"Aaah!" Soras shouted, "I knew you would want to know, but can I have one question at a time?

To your second question, the mages did. They were lead by the DragonBlaster clan, remember?"

Everyone took a moment to remember who made the everlasting life potion. The DragonBlaster made it, but didn't drink it because they didn't know it was the eternal life potion.

"Well, they made the machine. the clan streches as faaarrrr back to the Second Age, which tells you how old I really am.

Let's do the rest of the questions at my house, I don't think it's suitable of talknig about right at the entrance of that smelly dungeon.

CHAPTER 3

Oddly enough, the mage's house was far more cleaner then most would have expect. all the papers lay in neat little piles, a grandfather clock ticked slowly on the wall, and the staffs lay in perfect order along a table. Clearly, this mage was organized.

"Have a seat," Moras pointed to the cahirs waiting for someone to sit in them. Everyone took a moment to settle in the chairs.

Matthew recieved a huge shock, then he went flying out of his chair, screaming all the way.

"Whoops, forgot to turn off security," Moras chuckled. Picking up a Water Staff, Moras tapped the chair with it. A sizzling sound was heard, and the chair vibrated a little, as if it was annoyed by the staff.

"You can come back in, Matthew, chair's turned off."

Matthew entered the house, with a pained look on his face. His leather had bits of black on it, which sizzled on his skin. Moras chuckled a bit more.

"I think I can start answering your questions, Matthew. We'll go with the one you want most now."

"What what it was used for?" Matthew asked.

"Nothing, oddly enough. They just found the ores and did some research. After they saw what the shield did, they sealed the entrance of the machine away.

Second question?" Soras asked.

"Who found the ores?"

"I believe a middle-aged wizard found it. He wasn't as old as me, though, and i'm proud of it," Soras beamed, "But I would have never made that discovery. He also figured out what each ore was.

It was also him who put the ores in difficult places. He knew the entrance would be revealed soon, so he set up a puzzle and combat tests for us," he chuckled yet again, "and that was one heck of a puzzle for me! At the age of seven, I could never figure it out."

"I have one more question," Matthew asked. "How old are you?"

"Now I don't think he'll answer that," Moras wiggled his finger at him, "That's a bit too personal, at least for him.

The story shall continue, should you keep hope...I've been writing for too long, I need a rest, brothers and sisters...

CHAPTER 4

"Why was this machine created then?" Matthew asked, "Surely the mages would know that their creation would go agsinst their will."

"Well, no one reallys know," Moras said. He digged into his pockets for something. He found several runes, one of them a law rune.

"Bet you didn't know that mages could time travel," Soras grinned widly. "Well, not exactly travel when we were seven years old. But we can have, well...kinda like an image going on in our heads seeing what happened in our past. That's the way time travelling works for me."

"Well, can we go into the past?" Boras rushed in. "I really would like to see how my dad reacted when I ran away from hi-"

"Hey, slow down," Soras said. "If that is what we were doing, then we could. But Moras seems very adventerous and probably has an interesting past. He saw the machine being given it's finished touch in those days with me," Soras said. "and besides, I kind of forgot when his birthday was."

"Everyone hold hands now," Moras commanded. "It'll be boring if you're just standing there doing nothing while the others time travel."

IronClaw was shaking in fear as he linked his arms onto Matthew's and Soras's.

"I'll just recite the spell then." Soras hasted. He took a deep breath and cried,

Van thy timerio trvelio intor thy pasti de Morasmio Ecrio!

Everyone was pulled by the hair by some invisible force as Soras's spell took effect on the adventurers. Soon, the warriors and Moras fell onto the ground, possesed in Moras' memory.

CHAPTER 5

"Can any person here exactly tell me what's going on right now?" IronClaw asked. "I'm feeling a bit dizzy watching everything gray. Not the best symptom to have."

"Shut up, i'm even worser off then you, Moras grumbled, shaking the dust off his robes. "At least you guys are used to being dizzy. Soras' is my brother, and I still don't remember his birthday.

"Yeah, you mentioned that already," Boris said, still lying down in the dirt. "at least I know my birthday."

"Before we speak of anything else," Matthew piped up. "Can I ask a question? Where the heck are we?"

IronClaw, Boris, and Moras took a good look around them. In the dungeon Boris and Matthew were previously in, it was very smelly and stale. Now, in the effect of this time travel, men lumbered around, connecting parts of the machine to other pipes, women quickly smithed metal parts with an uncanny speed, and children raced around, delivering messages to the workers when their foreman saw something had to be done with.

"The machine required this many people? Weird." Matthew said, awed by the strength of the men connecting machine parts together.

"I want to show you something else," Moras said. "Follow me now."

"Woah!" Boris shouted as another kid meesenger zoomed by him. Except it didn't zoom by him, it zoomed through him.

"Don't worry about them Boris," Moras explained, as Boris picked himself up from the shock. "We are like ghosts, ghosts that cannot be seen, or an echo. Something like that."

In another second, IronClaw screamed and whipped around. A pipe went right through from the back of his head, as two workers against the foreman engaged into an angry battle.

"Um, let's go now, shall we?" Moras asked nervously.

The band of brave future men crawled walked towards the fire elemental room. As Matthew tried to open the door, two things happened. One, his hand went right through the door, causing him to trip. Two, he accidently kicked Boris behind him as he fell, causing about two hundred and fifty pounds of armour, muscle, and weight to fall.

"Get up, get up, I want to show you this. "Moras said impatiently as he pushed past the two men into the room.
