I think they're exactaly the same or pretty close, I'd go with rune because it's easier to find sellers.

Taming has been suggested many times already, although it would be sort of neat. Not much purpose to it though. Yay, i get to tame a chicken! Attack my foes! To many flaws in it, like a level 3 like me would get taming way up and be able to slaughter things that I shouldn't be able to.
