I think its .png and it's pretty much universal now-adays

Well... You should always click File > Save For Web to save it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For samples that you're showing people, always save in JPEG, 100% Quality.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you've made an image that someone wants to buy and it's too big in JPEG 100% quality, try lowering the quality as much as you can with the image still looking good
