I have the picture for my avatar (it's a yellow phat) but when I try to add it all it says is, the picture must be less than 8KB. How can I get this to work?

Once you have the image resized to under 8kb, you have two options:

 

 

 

1. Save the new avatar image to your computer. Then go to your profile, scroll down to the avatar section and next to the option, "Upload Avatar from your machine" you should be able to click a button and upload the avatar directly.

 

 

 

2. Once you have the new avatar image that is under 8kb, upload it to a free image host site (like imageshack.us). Once you upload it, copy and paste the direct link. This link should look something like this:

Your URL will look slightly different, of course, but the same format. In your profile, scroll down to where it says "Link to off-site Avatar." To the right of that, there should be a blank box. Paste your avatar URL in there.

How do I resize the image? The saved picture on my computer is VERY small and I can't get it smaller. Lol, should I be using microsoft word for this?

scorpus57 kindly offered to resize it for you. By resizing, you normally only have to lower the quality of the image, something usually done in Photoshop or MS Paint even.
