Doctorz
So I have set a fairly large construction goal for myself, 28 to whatever level you need (with the crystal saw and other random level boosters) to mount a major slayer monster head (requires 78) I'm only level 28 construction now, and I have practically no knowledge on what to do. I have 5m to burn on it, would this be enough to get my goal level? So my questions are: What is a good method from going from 28 to my target level? Is 5m enough to reach this target level? What level do I need to mount a major slayer head with all the bonuses? Thanks
Voldmort0
Well what you need to do is buy oak logs. Each oak log = 28.5 xp. So just divide the amount of exp you need by that and you'll know how many oak logs you'll need to buy. You'll need to turn them into planks and for that you'll need a demon/normal butler. From then on you just go to your house with noted oak logs and have you butler unnote and them make them into planks. repeat this and make oak larders (kitchen) you only need lvl 9 cons for it. It'll go pretty fast im sure. You should also check Tip.it's Construction guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=const ... _guide.htm Runescaper since June 2005Blog

Voldmort0
Yes, plus the fee to the butler for every 10 (i think) tasks. It still will be cheaper than buying the Oak planks directly. Runescaper since June 2005Blog
Doctorz
So let's see if I did this right.. 737,627 (70 construction)/28.5 = 25,881 25,881x20 = 517,620 25,881x250 = 6,470,250 517,620+6,470,240= 7m rounded up A little more expensive than I thought I'd be, but I guess that's how construction is. Edit: Oops, forgot this: 25,881/20 (logs a normal butler can take)= 1,294 1,294/10 = 129 129x5000=645k So now it's like 7.65m, still not too high I guess. Edit again: Found out this is significantly cheaper then buying the planks, so I'll probably be doing this unless there is a faster and cheaper way, which I doubt there is. Final Edit: Bought the 26k oak logs, taking Voldmort0's advice all the way to 70 construction. Thanks Voldmort0! A mod can close this now
exdeath
You have to pay the butler for every 8 trips, not 10. :/ I think it will be faster for you to run your own logs then to have the butler do it. You can either do that or just buy the planks already made... Gold farmers and macroers have bumped the price down quite a bit recently. If you choose to run your own logs a fast way is to use the balloon near castlewars (enlightened journey quest). With the spottier cape, penance gloves, and boots of lightness you can take money, a willow log, and a full inventory of oak logs to the varrock sawmill very quickly then use a dueling ring to return. Edit: by the way, don't forget about the construction buffs. You have the crystal saw that always give +3 to your level, and you can add another 6 if you get the best buff from evil stew. Evil stew is a pain though... I used it to put my gilded alter in going for a +5 bonus & that took awhile. The construction tea gives a pretty stable bonus. Just look at the construction guides for that though. Offering 91 and 93 herblore assists. PM me in game.

I'll probably first just run all of my logs (this seems like it will take a very long time..) and then just run the planks from the yanille bank to my house. All of the talking with the butler and the 5k fee isn't very fast. Probably slower than running from the bank.
pikachu54673
Trust me, the butler is VERY fast. Just look at my construction level, you'll see that I have a little bit of knowledge about this subject. Feel free to HYT me in-game =)~~3,483rd to 99 Thieving, Feb 22, 2008~~"There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want." - Calvin (& Hobbes)

Instead of justing "using" the logs on him, I was going through all of the talking.
