magerx7
Well, this is a quite annoying problem. After about, 45 minutes to 1 hour of having it on, it freezes and says the disk is unreadable. I feel back in the back where the fans are and it's scorching hot. I have tried putting a box fan behind it, that did nothing. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can buy extra fans for the 360. I'm wondering if there is an alternative to this solution. If you need any info, tell me how and where to find it. Thanks!
Antrune_II
The disk unreadable sign kept happening to me at a certain point on Gears of War. So I took the disk out, had a look and found scratches on the disk which the xbox had made. If this is the case for you and not just overheating, I found a silver cleaning cloth (which has a very light abrasive) and rubbed it on the disc taking a fine layer off and thus removing the scratches. Works like a dream. To be honest Antrune, you are a bit of a toff really aren't you?
Bmms
if your xbox is out of warranty, and it it was me i would take it apart and clean out the dust that will helps, and make sure it is sitting in a very open area not some little hole on the tv stand Aefx(started 11/1/2002) Cb: 200 TS: 1900+Bmms--Jr(Started on 1/24/06)(Banned 11/13/09 ) Cb: 119(pre-eoc) TS: 1700+Bmms(Started 8/?/2001)(Banned 1/24/06 ) Cb: 101(pre-eoc) TS: 1350+
mike0xhard
If overheating is the problem, you can always go to your local Wal-Mart and pick up an attachable fan for the back for around $20-30. This fan helps a great deal.

DO NOT buy one of them they are shorting out the 360s unless you wanna risk the chance of your 360 become a useless brick DO NOT use them http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/27/nyko-intercooler-scorches-xbox-360-consoles/ if thats the one your talking about dont use it my cousin had one and it fried his xbox if you really wanna risk that chance buying something for 30 and ruining the 400$ xbox be my guest, but if it was me i wouldnt risk that chance Aefx(started 11/1/2002) Cb: 200 TS: 1900+Bmms--Jr(Started on 1/24/06)(Banned 11/13/09 ) Cb: 119(pre-eoc) TS: 1700+Bmms(Started 8/?/2001)(Banned 1/24/06 ) Cb: 101(pre-eoc) TS: 1350+
magerx7
I know it's not the disks, because I will get a brand new one, no scratches at all, and it will still do the same thing. I do keep it in a large open area and I even put a large fan behind it. Looks like my best bet is going to be calling Xbox and see what they think.
