In the beginning there was the One Being, He who has no name. He looked down into the void and saw Chaos, and decided to build from it. But first he would need helpers...

He first created Saradomin, his minion of Good, who would bring forth blessings into the world. But with every creation there must be a balance, hot and cold, light and dark, good and evil̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ everything must be balanced, and so he created Zamorak, his minion of Evil, who would threaten the world with death and destruction. Unsure of the scale between Good and Evil, the One Being created Guthix to maintain the balance at all times: to be evil when good flourished, to be good when evil triumphed.

And each of these came into being, bewildered, offering their loyalties to their Creator.

And from there Saradomin created the earth, the sky, the air, the waters... He planted trees, spread grass throughout the plains, made clouds, and enriched the barren rocks.

And from there Zamorak created the wilderness, a mere extension to the earth, harboring all the evil energy of the world. He created fire ungathered, unleashed upon the earth to wreak havoc and cause destruction. Life had yet to exist, for the world was barren and no source of fertility had been conceived.

But Guthix was endowed by his Creator with the gift of Life. To balance the harsh conditions that Zamorak had unleashed upon the earth, he chose to create beings that would populate and multiply, thereby bearing some fruit to the One Being̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s world. He took the earth from Saradomin and from it sculpted the image of man, beast, bird, and fish. Guthix breathed life into each of his creations, and thus man was born.

The creation of man was not enough for these three minions, or by now we should call them gods; Zamorak now sought to enslave them, while Saradomin helped them resist. A war emerged between the two, the war symbolizing what will become the ultimate battle between good and evil: the apocalypse.

But Guthix remained indifferent, choosing only to help man; he chose not to meddle in the affairs of his immature brethren. Instead he is whom the ancient Greeks named Prometheus, helper of man; shaping the wild fires of Zamorak, containing them, and teaching men how to keep them in ranges and furnaces, he chose to enlighten them. This was his sole pleasure- to enrich his creatures and watch them grow and interact amongst themselves, a recreation also shared by the One Being. Guthix gave man the use of tools, the skill of cooking, fishing, mining, smithing- all the modern skills we possess today.

As Guthix did all this to help men, he only made it worse; for with the containment of fire came the common use of making fires in the grassy plains, often igniting entire forests; with the learning of mining and smithing came the creation of weapons, first of bronze, and today to the coveted Runite and Dragon metals; with fishing came a depletion of food, a loss in the sparkle of the waters.

So now man stands today, unwary of their beginnings; but I, a messenger of the Higher Being, the Creator, the One Being, come to shed light upon our history. He knows He has failed by creating these three minions of His, and now their feuds can no longer be controlled by the Powerful One. Instead He asks us, man, to cease to be instruments of Saradomin and Zamorak. We must resist succumbing to either side, and instead find a balance between the two extremes. It is with this message, my fellow men, that I end my tale.
