Well, I have a DELL computer with Windows SP2 and recently downloaded Windows Media 11.

 

 

 

When I put a CD (any type apart from DVD) I see the green light on the drive flashing and then it stops. Nothing happens. It used to work.

 

 

 

We have had our drive replaced twice, each time to no success.

 

We don't want to go through this again - my dad got ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã120 on phone calls charged to him.

 

We were put through to offices in India.

Any idea whats wrong?

When you go to "Start" -> "My Computer", do you see your CD drive listed there? Also, go to Start, control panel, performance and maintanance/system, click the hardware tab, then click device manager. In Device manager do you see anything listed under DVD/CD drives? If so, are there any yellow exclamation points next to them?
