Monster Hunting: Bronze Dragons

Featured Replies

This is borderline between PMG and this forum, however I do NOT want this to be a full guide. I'd rather for this to be added to the existing guide. If this is accepted, I will take some pictures for it.

My stats are 75/70/73, 76 hitpoints

While the guide to slaying dragons does not include a section on the slaying of Metal Dragons, I feel that it deserves a section. While most (if not all) people do not slay them for their drops, they are a slayer assignment. I recently had them as a task, and, feeling adventurous decided to try them. I read the guide on slaying the other dragons, and assumed Bronze Dragons would be much the same. However, I was wrong. Bronze Dragons are a fairly easy slaying assignment (especially with the small numbers)

I travelled to their lair, armed with my black mask and proselyte armor, a whip, an anti-fire shield, 4 anti-fire pots, 8 ppots, 2 super attacks, 2 super strengths, 5 sharks, and a hatchet. I potted up, then entered their lair. I began killing them with protect from melee. I soon realized that they aren't that scary, and turned off my prayer.

I killed the first one, and lost less than 20 health. I thought to myself "This must be a fluke, there's no way they are this easy." I killed the second, and lost less than 20 health.

This is what I think should be added to the guide:

Bronze Dragons

Bronze Dragons do not have good drops, compared to their brethren. However, when given as a slayer monster, they are profitable nonetheless.

Ideal Gear:

Black Mask (almost essential)

Torag's Plate > Rune Plate

Torag's Legs > Dragon Skirt

Abyssal Whip > Dragon Long

Metal Boots

RFD Gloves

Ring of Life (although they are easier than irons or steels, they are still dangerous.)

Anti-Fire Shield

In Inventory:

4 Anti-Fire pots

2 Super Attack Pots

2 Super Strength Pots

15 good food (Monkfish+)

905 gp

WC Axe

One-Click teleport

The basic strategy for killing these beasts is similar to the strategy for killing iron and steel dragons. Pot up, then start killing them. The important thing is NO prayer is needed.
