Which is better to high alch,

Some of the things Im really instrested in:

Profit: It may not be really a payoff skill but when your going to lvl 85 magic you can deffiently get some money out of it.

Burn Out Rate:I want it to be somthing where I won't get bored quickly

Time: Time it takes to make EVERYTHING for the item, or time to take to buy the items.

The three items;

Yew Long bows strung

water staves

Steel plates

let me know which you would do, for someone is is mid level patience,

and what items should be bought, sea weed, flax/bowstrings, iron..ect.

You all can go to hell but I'm going to TEXAS!!!

I believe buying Yew Logs, Flax, and Nature runes.. making the logs into longs, making the flax into bowstrings, stringing the longs, and then alching is a decent method. If you break even or make profit, it is worth the time. :)

But how much would you lose after buying all the materials?

Lets see.

Nats-300 ea

Yew logs-350 ea

Flax-80 ea

nats add up to 14.4m

yews add up to 16.8m

and flax 3.84m

a grand total of 35m

You would make no where close to 38m you would make only 3m :?

I know that you asked for input on only certain items, but I'm going to tell you about my alch item of choice, magic longbows.

I buy the following items at the following prices:

Nats: 280-290ea. The cheaper the better.

Bowstrings: 150ea. There is no reason to pay more than this.

Magic logs: 1100ea. I buy at this price on busy worlds. You generally don't get huge amounts per buy, but it's not that bad.

Once I have several k of each item, I trade my supplies for yew longs to people who are working towards 99 fletch. Post an add to the forums and you'll get a response in decent time.

Magic longs alch for 1536 ea so if I bought at the cheapest prices listed above, my cost is 1530 and I profit 6 per bow. If I buy nats at 290ea (much easier to do than 280ea), the I profit 1 per bow.

This method involves only buying and trading, and then straight to alching. No time is spent making anything and no skills are required other than 55 magic. If you are going to burn out on anything, it will be all of the alching that you will end up doing.

If you want to profit more, then buy flax for 50 ea and spin your own bowstrings.

I don't do yew longs because the price of yew logs is too high relative to the alch value of yew longbows (in my opinion).

Honestly, I feel like I'm hurting myself by giving this info away.
