I model quite alot in 3dsmax, i can tell you it sure as hell aint easy making stuff like that. (not just the modeling but the textures and the lighting is also unbelievably hard)

thats because your not taking a course on it. grade 12 technical design will teach you how to model the basics of that.

Anyways, even if you manage to model it, rendering it to look photo-realistic is very hard.

how would you know its hard without doing the course?

It's very realistic, but there are a few things that make it fairly obvious it's not a photo..

The only thing that doesn't look right is some of the shadowing and the picture of the guy

the program does all the work for you, he/she added bright lightsource outside of the window render and that pretty much covered all of the shading, the texturing if made by him/her is good but if not that too is simple. theres better looking work out there is what im trying to get at. not that this doesnt look good. it does.
