I just got verizons new fiber optics internet, and they gave me a modem/router in one tower. before i could connect my nintendo ds to my old lynksis router, but now it asks for a WEP key, i enter it, but ... it says its not a compatable WEP key for the ds, i called support and all they said was ill have to find out the WEP key numbered 1 thats in my router but theres only one on the router its self, how can i find this out?

You will need to go into the router's settings.

This will bring you to a web page with all your router's settings. It may ask you for the router's password which you will need to find out.

there are 2 wep settings, 128 and 64 bit I believe, 128 has 1 while 64 bit has 4, try switching to 64 bit?

I highly don't recommend that. 128bit WEP is weak enough but 64bit is even worse. Anybody that can use google can crack a 64bit WEP key in under 3mins, on 128bit it will take probably 10minutes. The best security would be to change to WPA or WPA2, but some older wireless devices don't support it. You would need to be pretty important for somebody to crack a password in WPA.

hmm odd, i typed in the code and sure enough it took me to a Verizon log in screen, i know the user name and password but for some odd reason when i type in something in the password box every digit/letter i type in it types three i don't know if its three of that letter because of the dots for security, i tried backspacing it to the the pass but even backspaces do three times.... anyone?
