How do I put things in the storage there?

make sure you have the whole set (say frog costume you need hat, top, and legs). then use any piece of that set on the appropriate storage unit and it will be stored away.

First, you need the full outfit.

 

Second, you need to make sure it's the appropriate closet.

 

Third, you USE it on the respective closet.
